I used to scroll Instagram thinking…

“Where are the chill, cool, affordable, inclusive creative events?”
 Nothing felt very me.

So in March, I created the Creative Collective, a space where every creative is celebrated, seen, and safe to show up as their full self.
 ✨ This is me giving back, creating the space I craved for most of my life.
And now…
 Some of you have created your own communities. @storyshewrotecommunity
 Some of you say I inspire you, it STILL makes me cry.
 Some of you tell me my events feel like the first room where you actually feel comfortable.

✨ You didn’t just show up, you shaped this.
 Your warmth, your welcome, your hype… that’s what makes this community special.

In July 2021, I shared my long-held dream of pursuing a career in Psychology with my family. A year later in Sept 2022, I left behind my entire life—family, friends, community—and moved to England to study for a Masters degree in Psychology at Aston University.

September 2023 marked the completion of my course and an incredibly challenging year, balancing my academics, job, and adapting to a new country. Studying Psychology for a Masters degree without prior education in the field was really ambitious and required an insane amount of work that I wasn’t prepared for 😅

Last week, I attended my graduation ceremony, filled with pride for hanging in there and achieving my goal. I’m deeply grateful to God, my father and sisters, who were my pillars of strength throughout this journey—I don’t know what I’d do without you. And to my friends, who never stop inspiring and holding me—I love you all so much!

So, what’s next? Becoming a qualified Psychologist is a long-term commitment, and I’m taking the time to acquire the necessary skills, knowledge, and certifications to get there.

In the meantime, the expertise I’ve gained during my Masters has proven invaluable in my professional and personal life so far. Psychology offers an incredible wealth of knowledge that I wish everyone would easily have access to.

Super thankful to my people for showing up for me last week, and to @island_fm for taking so many beautiful pictures! ❤️
