How I met Toluwani (the real story) Honestly, our story started because my friends decided they were tired of me being single. 😂 One day, I was in my hostel room with my friends when they decided enough was enough. They took my phone, created a Hinge profile for me, picked out my pictures, and basically told me I was going to give this dating thing a chance. To encourage me, we all sat together swiping through profiles and laughing at the people we came across. Then I saw his profile, and for some reason, I really liked the background of one of his pictures and the shirt he was wearing. It was such a simple thing, but it stood out to me, so I swiped right. Not long after, he messaged me, and from that very first conversation, something just clicked. It didn’t feel forced; talking to him felt easy. Before we knew it, our conversations turned into long phone calls, and we were spending hours getting to know each other. During that season, we also joined the Hallelujah Challenge together. We prayed together, grew closer, and shared moments that made our connection feel even more special. Shortly after, I got my dream job at the time, something we had prayed about together, and it felt like one of those moments where you just know God was involved in the story. Eventually, we planned our first meeting in Manchester. My friend drove me all the way there, and I still laugh thinking about how he had already prepared a backup plan. He told me that if this guy wasn’t who he said he was or didn’t look like his pictures, he was ready to take me straight back home. 😂 But then I saw him. And everything just made sense. I immediately felt comfortable and at ease. He was even more handsome in person, tall, and I honestly couldn’t stop looking at him.
