Life is catastrophically captivating, have you looked up to notice that! Now that the line ups aren’t as busy for locals summer I beginning to hear the gratitude drum louder. Or maybe it’s the freedom of a new decade? Summer was as slammed as the 405 in rush hour traffic, but Lord have mercy twas she charming. I’m literally obsessed with the sunshine maxing. I haven’t needed to wear a wetsuit in ages. My puppy doesn’t know how to walk except for in the sand & that’s a tragedy I’ll delight in. I’ve figured out how to make gf/df treats that taste good & are pretty. Huzzah for a healthy gut. Ate so much fish & more protein than ever before, felt better than ever. Dove with my dad at the islands. Had live music at the house, more of that soon! Spent over a month in Hawaii this year cumulatively, sheesh feels like another home at this point in life. I surfed Leo again this summer thanks to a nudge from a friend and even little dume due to another. It felt good to go back, set a little fire in my heart again. I surfed at home a few times even after big paddles. What a treat to start the day chasing seagulls with my killer pup & then reflect at sunset by the creek up the hill. Becoming more of a hybrid surfer these days, but the log still comes out like that magic spring day pawrent swap at my favorite point up the way. Life’s simple, extravagant & just sweet. In case you haven’t already friends go find yourself an afternoon ice cream or in my case a vegan sorbet, be a little kid it’s a summer of dreams. Okie that’s all, much love, the Lord is so kind.

Happy hour in Downtown Ventura at @modelcitizenvta Mondays from 4PM-9PM

We ordered from both the happy hour AND regular menu, and honestly… best decision.

We started with the PATATAS BRAVAS with Black Garlic Chili Oil. They had me at potato. Sooo good.

Then came the Hamachi Crudo, which @jara.simp shared and had been on my list to try. Finally checked that one off! I’ll 💯 be ordering again.

And you all know I had to get the Double Wagyu Smashburger with caramelized onions, American cheese and burger sauce. With a side of fries (because I love potatoes). LOL!

I’m so glad @eri.the.foodie and I stopped by. The food is 10/10, the people are very welcoming. And THE PLAYLIST 🔥@eri.the.foodie and I were completely in our element.

Model Citizen, we”ll definitely be back!

Treated myself to a happy hour girl dinner at @modelcitizenvta a while back.

This is one of the best vodka martinis I've had in the 805! I absolutely plan on making the trek to Ventura just to enjoy it again 🥰

The fries were ok, but the farmers market tomato salad was my favorite dish. Bright and refreshing on a hot summer day.

Maybe one of these days I'll stop by for a full dinner, but this girl dinner was just what I needed on my "treat yourself" day out.
