To the game that gave me so much in life… not just lifelong friends and memories, but lessons that went far beyond the baseball field.

You taught me how to fail, how to get back up, how to believe in myself, and how to keep going when everything seemed to be falling apart. You taught me that life isn’t always fair, that hard work doesn’t always guarantee success, and that sometimes the things you love most can hurt you the most.

From earning my first college scholarship, to my first collegiate hit, home run, and strikeout. From the highest highs to the lowest lows, this game gave me moments I’ll cherish forever.

But it also broke my heart.

Two elbow injuries brought my college career to an end, and for an entire year, I thought my playing days were behind me. I had to learn who I was without the game that had been my entire life. But God had a different plan.

A year later, I found my way back to the mound. Back to the game I thought I’d lost forever. Only this time, I appreciated every moment a little more. What once felt like the end of my story became the beginning of something I had always dreamed of.

I earned my first professional contract.

From my first professional strikeout, to my first win, to my first save… those moments meant more than any number on a stat sheet. They represented every setback, every sacrifice, every prayer, and every moment I refused to give up. Looking back, the greatest thing baseball ever gave me wasn’t a scholarship, a contract, or an accomplishment. It was the person I became along the way.
I used to think the hardest pitch I’d ever throw would be one with the game on the line. But now I realize it was my last one. Not because I knew it would be my last, but because I didn’t.
One last time stepping on that mound. One last time looking in for a sign. One last time doing what I’ve loved for as long as I can remember. To my wife, family, coaches, teammates, and everyone who believed in me along the way, thank you. You made this dream possible. And to the game of baseball, thank you for the highest highs, the lowest lows, the lifelong friendships, and the second chance I never thought I’d get. Thank you
