It’s not every day that I get to photograph adult portraits. My world is mostly filled with babies, children, and families. But every now and then, someone trusts me with something different.

When @adeola.bakre reached out and asked me to photograph her birthday session, my first reaction was, “Deola … are you sure?”

She smiled and said, “I believe in you. I know you can bring my vision to life.”

Then she sent me her mood board…

I looked at it and thought, “Wow… how exactly are we going to pull this off?”

But Deola never wavered. She kept saying, “Oduola , I believe in you. I know you can do this.”

Sometimes, all it takes is one person believing in you, especially when you’re doubting yourself.

So we got to work, poured our hearts into every detail, and created something we’re both incredibly proud of. The final images turned out even better than I imagined, and seeing how happy she was made every moment worth it.

Deola , thank you for trusting me, for believing in my creativity, and for seeing something in me that I wasn’t even sure I could see at that moment.

Happy birthday dear ! I pray this new year brings you endless joy, favour, beautiful memories, and every good thing your heart desires.

And thank you… for reminding me that growth often begins with someone else’s belief in you.

I really just enjoy this part of what we do because working with kids has taught me that you can’t force anything. Some of them come in excited, some are quiet, some just want to observe first and we’ve learnt to go with that instead of trying to change it.
We take our time, let them settle, and somewhere in between, the real moment shows up.

That’s usually where the best photos come from. Not the perfect poses, just the natural ones.
If you’ve trusted us with your child’s memories, we truly appreciate it 🤍
And if you’re just finding us , you’re welcome here.🤗
