✨ “Still, I Give Thanks.” ✨
This year,
gratitude feels different.
Not simple.
Not soft.
But earned.
Held.
Lived through.

I’m thankful I’m still here,
even after the nights that felt heavy,
the memories that came back uninvited,
and the moments I whispered,
“God, please, help me through this.”
And He did.

I’m thankful for growth,
the uncomfortable, necessary kind
that hurts before it heals.

I’m thankful for the small things:
sunlight through blinds,
music that understands me,
late-night laughter,
and silence that finally feels gentle.

I’m thankful for my psych cohort;
me, Seth, Kiley, Saron, Elsa, and Elliot.
Different souls, same chapter.
I’m grateful we get to grow together.

I’m thankful for my advisor, Dr. Stadler
for reminding me recently
that people matter more than we say out loud.

I’m thankful for my friends,
the ones who stayed,
and the ones whose chapters ended.
Both changed me.
Both mattered.

I’m thankful for my parents,
not because everything was right,
but because I can finally see them as human.

I’m thankful for my grandma Deb,
my steady place, my constant,
my proof love can stay.

And I’m even thankful for the silence,
for the almost’s,
for the distance,
for the people who still act close
despite disappearing for weeks.
Thank you,
you taught me the difference
between attention and consistency.
Your absence clarified my worth.

I’m thankful for the hard days,
the tears, the setbacks,
the moments I felt overwhelmed,
because even then,
I rose.

And somehow,
after everything,
my heart is still soft.
It still hopes.
It still believes life can be beautiful.

So this year,
I give thanks,
for who I’ve become,
and the fact that I finally know
I deserve to be here. 🍂💛

One. Last. Run.

I cannot describe how happy/sad (😏) I am that my last high school theater experience is over.

I am so honored to have been able to be a part of the amazing Addams family, and to have gotten to know my fellow cast members so well. Thank you all for making these moments so special, and for being my family on, and off the stage.

And at the end of it all, I still can't read music.

Keep movin towards the darkness fellas.

Oh, and Lurch? Your the best dueling partner a Spaniard could ever ask for.

Yours truly for the final time,

-Gomez Florencia Addams
