I’m SO excited to share that I feel God has called me to go back to the Dominican Republic in March 2027! 🇩🇴❤️

We’ll be serving through kids camp, sports camp, and going door-to-door to meet families, build relationships, pray, and share the love of Jesus. My prayer is that everyone we meet feels seen, loved, and wanted by God.

I’d love your support through prayer and, if you feel led, financially. I’m so grateful for everyone who helps make this third trip possible! 🇩🇴

The support link is below and in my bio! Please share! ❤️

This week, take some time to pray for our team in the Dominican Republic! 🇩🇴

We sent a team of 19 people to serve alongside our Kingdom Come partner, Mission of Hope ( @mohcaribbean ). Over the next several days, they’ll be interacting with the community of Jarabacoa in a variety of ways, including a mobile medical clinic, strategic ministry opportunities, light construction projects, and the distribution of water filtration systems and clothing.

Through all of this, they’ll be on mission for every man, woman, and child in Jarabacoa to have repeated opportunities to see and hear the Gospel.

Please pray for our team this week! 🙏

This week in the beautiful Dominican Republic, God reminded me of something simple and powerful: we are all brothers and sisters. Regardless of race, where we are born, or color, we have more in common than we realize. We love Jesus, we love people, and we are called to lead others to Christ.

The Dominican and Haitian people we met welcomed us with so much love and kindness. And the kids changed me. Their smiles, hugs, and joy reminded me that love doesn’t need a common language. Sometimes a hug says everything. ❤️

This week opened my eyes to the blessings I often overlook—clean water, food, a safe place to sleep, and the freedom to live without fear. It reminded me to be grateful and to look for ways to bless others. I don’t want to simply remember what I saw; I want to do something about it.

This was my first mission trip, but I know it won’t be my last. We are called to serve, love, and preach the Gospel to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). 🌎

I came home grateful, humbled, and changed. I’m thankful God allowed me to experience this alongside such an incredible team.

My prayer is that what God showed me this week will not only change how I feel, but how I live.
Mission of Hope Jarabacoa is a blessing to the island and the people, we look forward to a continued partnership to preach the gospel and make disciples 🌎 To God be the glory!

Chef Jorden had the honor of creating a Haitian-inspired meal for Mission of Hope’s Night of Hope. 🇭🇹

It was a privilege to share food with a room gathered in support of the organization’s work in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Thank you to Mission of Hope for inviting Savory Events to be part of such a meaningful evening. 🤍

There’s something pretty special about being in a room full of people with big hearts.

Last night I had the opportunity to attend Mission of Hope’s Night of Hope dinner, and I left incredibly impressed by both the organization and the people supporting it.

Mission of Hope has been serving communities in Haiti and the Dominican Republic for more than 25 years, working alongside local leaders to create lasting impact through food security, education and community engagement.

But what stuck with me most was the story behind the work.

It’s easy to talk about impact in numbers. It’s different when you hear the stories of the actual people whose lives have been changed and see a room full of people willing to invest their time, resources and hearts into making more of those stories possible.

A beautiful evening, a powerful mission, and a good reminder that there are a lot of really good people quietly doing really good work.

Grateful I got to be in the room. 💙

If you don’t know Mission of Hope, they’re worth knowing. And if you’ve never attended an event catered by Chef Jorden and Savory Events you’re missing out!

A very tough post. A beautiful, smart, funny, brave and tirelessly resilient young woman, Jean Pierre Nicole, our Nicole, passed away yesterday morning after a short illness. She, her daughter Jennifer, dear friend Esther, made it back to Haiti last Spring. They were enjoying new found freedom back in country after a few years in the DR, escaping the violence in Haiti.
She wanted a better life for Jennifer and she was doing whatever she could to make that happen. I first met Nicole in 2010 at Mission of Hope, where she had been living most of her childhood. She was 16 when we met. I realized yesterday I had known her half of her life. She was smart, funny, and so warm and such a good mother.

She has had to endure more challenges than most of us will in our lifetime. I told someone yesterday that other than my mother, I have never known any other woman as strong as her.

Most recently in the Dominican Republic, she had started working for another wonderful organization, @Light A Candle DR, assisting Haitian communities there. I cannot stress enough how hard she worked to give her daughter a better life, but also to build an independent life for her and her daughter.

She leaves behind her darling daughter, Jennifer, and many other individuals who loved and adored her. Many thanks to Vena Destiné, Charletta Garrison, Jan Ross, the entire Mission of Hope family, her dear friend Esther Jeanvil, Wilkin Papagozo, Michelle O'Neal, Kim Tuttle @lora_manka_garrison and @lightacandleDR

It was blessing and a gift to know her these past 16 years. I know she will always be looking down and watching us, and especially young Jennifer.

Godspeed and Peace. You rest now, we’ve got you. ❤️🙏🇭🇹
