Mohit is a Melbourne-based producer and DJ whose evolution is rooted in the fusion of live performance and electronic exploration. Beginning with a background as a jazz instrumentalist, he first started experimenting as uglybrownsounds with complex software driven bass music. His current work marks a shift toward a hardware-leaning workflow, where he bridges his experimental roots with a deep focus on more curated productions. By integrating live bass with tactile hardware sequencing, Mo creates a production style that is a lot more fluid and stripped back, with a focus on elements that go against software maximalism.

As a DJ his sets are primarily driven by the energy of Garage and Breakbeat. However, his selections remain expansive, frequently drawing from his heavily colored influences of Jazz, Hip Hop, House, and Jungle.

The Spread Vol. 1

The idea of bringing music, art and movement together was a success!!

From the bottom of our hearts 💕 … thank you to every person who came through the gates, danced with strangers, stayed for one more song, shared a conversation, admired the art, or simply embraced the atmosphere ✨

You helped make The Spread Vol. 1 what it was…

Energy. Expression. Connection.

To everyone who performed, contributed to creating such an inspirational space and supported behind the scenes — this wouldn’t have happened without you. Thanks @section8melbourne for hosting our first event! 🙏

Here’s a little look back at a night we’ll never forget.

Until next time.

❤️‍🔥 There’s a particular kind of wedding that sticks with you long after the last song plays - and Megan & Josh’s day at Rupert on Rupert in Collingwood was exactly that. Loud in the best ways, unapologetically themselves, and built on ten years of genuine partnership, this was a wedding that felt like walking straight into the middle of a great love story already in progress.

I had the honour of being both Celebrant and MC for Megan & Josh’s June 2026 wedding, and it’s one I won’t stop talking about.

Now on my blog x

CLIQUED Records Presents: Verify You’re Human EP [CLQD005]: Mohit.R

For July, Mohit.R takes us on an electronic journey through his new chapter of sounds. His use of sampling is something reminicent of early garage cuts that you dig up on a random 25° day at some dingy record shop, a hidden gem. Mohit sent us the opening track to this project, ‘RTGD2’ a couple of months ago and we’ve been eagerly waiting to put this out. This project is not something you’ve heard before, a cohesive 4-tracker with memory-binding ear candy and melodies.
