‘She Has A Name’

A figure sits, steadfast.
She doesn’t speak or move,
but she has a name.

She is still.

No shade or shelter,
no choice or escape,
but she has a name.

Eyes question why she remains.
The same eyes questioned when she attempted to leave.
She has a name.

They watch through screens as the sky begins to fall around her.
They refuse to let her remind them of their own.
She has a name.

Fire starts to envelop her.
They get a thrill out of watching her burn.
She still has a name.

They silence her mother’s cries.
They disguise her father’s screams.
She still has a name.

There is no longer a figure that sits,
for she was never saved by the very hand that put her there.
Keep saying her name.

Mohammed & Abdelrahman in London / June 2026 / THE MIRACLE / Cette rencontre, c’est un miracle

THIS SONG IS NOT FOR COCKTAILS AND PLAYGROUNDS - it is a heartbreaking lament, a prayer from the Arapaho native tribe. As all the native colonised by Europe : ethnic cleansing and genocide. This is the real face of Europe. There is no USA. There is no Israel. Only death and destruction based on racisme and greed. We cannot erase the pain. Make it as a funny song our kids sing at school parties. Photos archives from Arapaho people / Nakba Palestine / Jabalya camp / Gaza @mohnateel

🧿 Love Letter interview part 2/2 with Palestinian artist Mohammed A. Nateel @mohnateel - full interview in the link in bio

Love Letter is an upcoming music and film collaboration between singer-songwriter Marie Goldflake and photographer Mohammed A. Nateel. Created between the western coast of Brittany and Gaza, the project brings together music, photography, poetry, memory, and friendship across distance and war.

The song was written by Marie Goldflake and developed through an ongoing dialogue with Mohammed Nateel. The accompanying music video, directed by filmmaker Thomas James, weaves together Mohammed’s images from Gaza with footage filmed on the coast of Brittany, creating a visual conversation between two shores connected by memory, loss, resilience, and hope.

Although the song and video have not yet been released, the project has already begun to take shape through artistic exchange. This June 2026, Mohammed presented a photographic exhibition in London exploring the connections between memory, displacement, Gaza, and his new life in exile. Many of the themes that underpin Love Letter—distance, remembrance, resilience, and human connection—are also present in that body of work.

Born from an ongoing dialogue between the two artists, Love Letter grew out of messages exchanged across borders during the war in Gaza. Through music, photography, poetry, and film, the project seeks to bridge two shores and create a space where compassion can travel beyond geography.

In this conversation, Marie Goldflake and Mohammed A. Nateel reflect on their personal journeys, the role of art in times of violence and displacement, and how a simple exchange of messages evolved into a work that affirms our shared humanity.

Posts for Resistance

Posts for Resistance is conceived as a form of civic action. Artists and the general public are invited to Gallery Manifesto during the course of the Sarajevo Photography Festival to contribute an A5 artwork and affix it directly to the gallery wall. This might take the form of a sketch, painting, poem, photograph, or text. The exhibition therefore begins as an empty container—a field of possibility—constructed collectively over its duration. It offers itself as a form of solidarity: a shared, public articulation of resistance against oppressive structures of power across the globe.

Alongside this evolving exhibition is the work of seven Gazan photographers and filmmakers—Moayed Abu Ammouna, Feda Hassanat, Mohammed Moharm, Abd Nabahin, Bisan Nateel, Mohammed Nateel, and Mohamed Zediah—who are currently studying or have been accepted to university programmes in the UK, as well as a presentation of the fundraiser
Postcards for Palestine.

The exhibition takes as its point of departure the conditions that make such actions urgent. The flattening of Gaza and the US-Israeli war on Iran and Lebanon, which is both material and digitally mediated, mark an extreme instance of erasure in which lives, histories, and communities are displaced and destroyed. Alongside this, a broader climate of cancellations and censorship continues to shape cultural production across the Western world, delimiting what can be shown, said, or supported. These dynamics unfold within a wider resurgence of authoritarian and fascist ideologies, increasingly visible across the political and institutional spectrum.

At the same time, such conditions are sustained through more diffuse forms of complicity: through comfort, distance, and wilful ignorance. The ability to disengage—to remain unaffected, to look away—is itself a political position. As James Baldwin wrote in 1962, “Not everything that is faced can be changed but nothing can be changed until it is faced.” Within this context, the exhibition offers a space to creatively and collectively engage with the political. As works accumulate, the gallery becomes a shared site of encounter and resistance.

We have reached £250k ❤️💚🤍🖤

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, shared and spread the word about this important cause. Your support has enabled 4 Palestinian students from Gaza to evacuate and begin study at universities in the UK. A further 3 students have secured scholarships but are still awaiting evacuation.

Your donations are contributing to visa fees, tuition and living expenses. Our goal of £250k is enough to cover one year of study per student, so anything on top of this will fund years 2 and 3 of Abd’s course in Falmouth.

Mohammed Moharm, Mohammed Nateel and Mohamed Zediah are enrolled in the MA Photography programme at the Royal College of Art in London. They will each be presenting photobooks at the prestigious Photo London fair in May. Mohamed Zediah has been selected as a finalist for the 2026 Dior Photography and Visual Arts Award for Young Talents, and will exhibit his short film ‘The First Time and the Last’ at LUMA Arles. In February, Mohammed Moharm exhibited a selection of his photographs at the 2025 Palinale Film Festival in Berlin.

Abd Al-Nabahin is currently on the BA (Hons) Photography course at Falmouth University. He recently made an excursion to London with his classmates and professors and presented some of the photographs he took there in a university exhibition.

Feda Hassanat, Bisan Nateel and Moayed Abu Ammouna are still awaiting evacuation from Gaza, but we are ready to support them on their arrival. Moayed and Bisan have been accepted to the MRes Visual Cultures programme at Goldsmiths. Feda has received an offer to join the MFA Communication course at the Royal College of Art. If you are a UK resident, please consider writing to your member of parliament after the upcoming local elections (7 May) showing your support for UK evacuation assistance for Gaza students with scholarships in the UK.

All 7 artists will participate in the exhibition ‘Posts for Resistance’ as part of the 2026 edition of the Sarajevo Photography Festival in June.

Here are some images taken by the students on their explorations around the UK:

The Art of Activism exhibition and publication explore a specific segment of protest and engaged art in the Czech Lands, especially after 2009 (the global economic crisis) in the context of international movements such as Occupy Wall Street, Black Lives Matter, Me Too, Women Life Freedom, Fridays for Future, Extinction Rebellion, etc. In addition to reflecting on Czech individual and collective artistic activities, significant space is devoted to foreign initiatives, especially those that form the immediate political and inspirational context of the local art scene.

Through a range of documentary and other artistic media, the project maps examples of “performative democracy” in the form of activist, political and environmentally oriented projects, as well as contemporary artistic practice in the field of social intervention and participatory strategies that contribute to deepening social resilience by supporting civic initiatives.

Postcards for Palestine (PfP)

An artist-run project launched in October 2023 in response to Israel’s assault on Gaza and the West Bank. It gathered 1,322 original postcard artworks from artists in 40+ countries, shown in fundraising exhibitions in Prague and London, and later at the 60th edition of La Biennale di Venezia in collaboration with Arts of the Working Class and Artists + Allies x Hebron.

Postcards for Palestine was founded by Peter Watkins.

Proceeds were donated to PCRF, UNRWA, Medical Aid for Palestinians, and Médecins Sans Frontières.

Support for Palestinian Students to Study Abroad (SPSSA)

With every university in Gaza destroyed, SPSSA has secured places and funding for seven students to study in the UK. As of Nov 2025, four students have arrived safely, and taken up university places at the Royal College of Art, and Falmouth. Work continues towards bringing the remaining three student evacuations closer, and honouring their university placements.

Thanks to the SPSSA team, Gaza40+, RCA, UCA Farnham, Falmouth, Goldsmiths, MACK Books, and everyone who has offered support in 1000 different ways.
