I had the pleasure of being asked to create sculptures of Molly’s @molldoll63 and her husband David’s sweet Basset Hounds for David’s birthday. This is Pepper and Scarlet. Something special about Basset Hounds is that each one is born with a heart shape in their pattern somewhere on their body. I thought that was such a cool little sweet detail. Thank you Molly for sharing your cute fur babies with me and trusting me to create this special gift for your dear husband. I hope he had an absolutely wonderful birthday and loved his gift! 🥰❤️🐾

“Vintage is really where I like to make items. I love to take things apart from vintage items and make new things from them.” - Molly

I’m not just a fan, I’m also a collector! Check out these earrings I wore last Halloween made by Molly Livingston Creations. See more of her work at @molldoll63. Molly on converting her hobby into a business:

“I I think what I would really want to tell new people starting out in this business as most people are using this as a hobby during the months of quarantine that we've had, or deciding to start up new businesses after either being laid off or just not working as much would be to pick up as much as you can, depending on what type of learner you are, either through videos or books. I picked up a lot of my learnings through YouTube and the various YouTube presenters. Just keep at it and learn what your audience likes, be open to new things and practice practice practice. I basically did it as a hobby as I was still working when I first started, and then when my daughters came home as they were adopted at ages four and six through foster care, I really didn't have time.” - Molly

Local jewelry designer and maker, Molly Levingston’s handcrafted creations are a testimony to her creativity and patience. From clasps to hand wrapped pieces, her jewelry is made with attention to even the smallest details. Check out more of Molly’s work at @molldoll63. Molly says she took a long break from jewelry making for 2-3 yrs and then began again after a big move. Molly on selling her work:

“My husband built me a workbench in the garage and I decided to unpack all of my items that had been stored. I decided to sit down at my little bench and make a pair of earrings. It has been 2-3 yrs since I’d picked up any of my tools to make anything. I posted my earrings on Facebook. From there, a very dear high school friend bought a pair of earrings and then others asked if I sold jewelry. So that started me off on the selling side of it.” - Molly of Molly Levingston Creations

Meet local jewelry designer and maker, Molly Levingston! While exploring new hobbies almost 20 years ago, Molly says she found jewelry making accidentally on a trip to the bead store with a friend. She initially picked up a couple of books on the subject, but soon realized she is more of visual learner as she struggled with the visuals made from a primarily right-handed dominate perspective. Being left-hand dominate, she and her husband sat down and worked across from one another until she was able to learn new jewelry techniques. As a fellow South Paw, I can attest to how well this technique works! I learned to play basic guitar chords from a right-handed friend in the same way many years ago. I woke up this morning, and read a beautifully written post by @bohemianzenwear ! If you are not following this incredibly kind and talented Creative Soul Sister then do yourself a big favour and go check out her inspiring feed! She was celebrating the people in our community, for National Friendship Day, who have had an impact on her in a profoundly positive way! She’s not the only one! This morning my feed has been full of such heartfelt and uplifting messages of joy, gratefulness, and generosity of spirit, that just reinforces for me the importance of female friendships! American poet E.E. Cummings said; “We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any experience that reveals the human spirit.” That says it all! Every time you take a moment to comment, encourage, cheer on, share, and reveal a little something of yourself to others, you are indeed letting someone know they are worthy, and valued. That goodness goes a long way toward helping us believe, with a little more certainty, in ourselves! Sending you all a virtual bouquet 💐 of flowers from my garden in thanks, for showing us all that there is STRENGTH IN SISTERHOOD! Feel free to tag any sisters here who need to know how much you believe in them! 💖💐💖
