Masters complete ✅🥹 Not only have I finished my masters but that means my university journey has FINALLY come to an end 🥹 I have loved every single second of this year, it’s been my favourite year overall and I am so grateful for everyday I spent learning, creating and connecting ♥️ I worked so unbelievably hard for this masters to prove that I can be a musician for anyone who thought otherwise but most importantly to find out who I want to be and I think I did just that. 😌 Created an artist brand, got 30+ musicians on my project alone, done too many gigs in the venue (forgetting exhaustion exists), spent 48 hours awake to complete an assignment, too many mirror selfies to count, spent a lot of my pay check on Marylands and beer and met some of the most amazing people on the planet. It doesn’t get much better than that… Apart from having severe post uni burnout and no sleep over the past 2 months, I am so so happy. I will miss this place a lot but I am excited for what’s the come ✨

Well… I finally made a page just for drums 🥁 If you know me, you probably know I’ve been playing drums for a very long time. If you don’t — hi, I’m Federico 👋 I realised I had years of live shows, recordings, collaborations and random drum footage scattered everywhere, so it was probably time to give all of it a home. I’ll be sharing some new stuff, some old stuff, live drum cams, studio recordings, collaborations and whatever else I find along the way. I’m based in London and currently available for live/session work, recording projects and drum lessons. Anyway, that’s the plan. Let’s see where this goes 🥁 Federico

Funny how things work out sometimes. When I left Italy, one of my best friends back home was probably the biggest Libertines fan I knew. Years later, after meeting and working with Sammy Vincent, I somehow found myself behind the kit at The Albion Rooms in Margate The Libertines’ home and recording studio. Not once, but twice. I’ve also had the chance to play live three times at Justine’s in Margate. This clip is from one of those studio sessions, recording drums for Sammy’s “Tell’em How the Life Leads.” Definitely one of those moments where you stop for a second and think about how strangely life connects the dots. 🎤 Sammy Vincent 🥁 Drums - Federico Parisi 🎸 Lead Guitar - Sam Hunter 🎸 Bass - Molly Chadwick 🖥️ Studio - Jason Stafford 📍 The Albion Rooms, Margate #studiodrummer #sessiondrummer #recordingstudio #thealbionrooms #drummer

This is exactly why I love discovering independent artists. Look at Molly Chadwick and you might expect shoegaze, goth rock and a little Radiohead-induced emotional damage. Then she starts singing... And suddenly you’re hearing something completely different. 🎧 Molly is a brilliant independent artist with a beautiful voice, clever songwriting and a stage presence that has got better and better every time I’ve filmed her. And that's one of the things I love about music discovery. You get to see an artist evolve. The songwriting gets stronger, the performance gets sharper and they gradually work out exactly who they want to be. Molly’s also been brave enough to take her music underground, literally, performing on the Tube and creating some seriously good live performances along the way. So go and discover Molly Chadwick, listen to her music and, if you get the chance, go and see her live. There is SO much great new music and independent music out there. You’ve just got to know where to look. And that's what Stuff U Need 2 Hear is all about - we’ll do it again next week.
