POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
After 3 years of constant fighting, continuous chemo’s, experimental therapies, several surgeries, various diets, multiple opinions, intense interventions, sleepless nights, thousands of prayers and an endless barrage of poking and prodding. The fight is over.
With no stone left unturned, no option untested and no path untraveled, we lost Sasha on October 7th, 2025.

Though they’ll never admit it, I like to believe that I played a role in naming Sasha. When Julya first announced she was pregnant, I subtly and selfishly recommended Alex for the name.
Why not? It works great for both genders, has historical significance but more importantly who wouldn’t want to share their name with their “cool” uncle.
Turns out, Alex didn’t make the cut but Sasha, which is Russian for Alex, did…
Now, there’s no evidence or proof that my subconscious seeds led to her final name choice but regardless, at the hospital when Sasha was born she made me Uncle Aleks and in turn she became my little monkey.

As she grew up, you could tell there was something different about Sasha. She didn’t have the shyness common with young kids, she had no fear and somehow even at a young age she commanded rooms, attracted attention and created this aura of positivity and joy. You couldn’t help but be infected with her charismatic charm. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it when she was little but as I watched her grow, learn and experience, I finally figured it out. She was going to be a star.
She had it. That indescribable thing that makes people drawn to you, makes them want to be with you. You couldn’t contain, keep up or mimic the energy, passion, personality and charm that Sasha had day in and day out. As she continued to grow she was excelling in school, learning new instruments, started singing, exploring new hobbies and slowly but surely inching towards her future self.

🐾 Meet Kane from Marley’s Mutts! 🐾

Kane came with many issues. One of the major issues he had was his fixation on the tree; it’s a pathology because it’s an obsession that can potentially be dangerous for him. Nothing could pull or draw him away from the tree. He would try to jump up to catch the branches, where he would land on his head and hurt himself, and nothing you could do would draw him away. With training and medication, this behavior has diminished a lot; he’s no longer fixated on the tree and can walk by it while focusing on you. 🌳✨

He has been progressing well. He used to have resource guarding issues. He used to show signs of guarding with other dogs; he still does, but he’s fine with distance, and he no longer guards against humans. He can be fed inside his crate; a bowl can be removed from him after he’s eating and offered to him. He can sit and wait before being allowed to eat, and he knows all of his basic commands. 🍽️👍

He’s very food-driven and loves to work. He gets along with other dogs and is very interested in other animals, but it doesn’t influence his behavior. He does not react to them, and one of the most important things he has been able to overcome is his distrust of humans. As you can see in this video, I can sit next to him, touch him anywhere, and he is okay with that; before, that would have been impossible. Not only am I able to interact with him, but everyone can interact with him. 🤗❤️

So Kane is adoptable, but he has come a long way to be here, and he needs a continued training regimen. He needs the structure and consistency that we have been providing for him in order for him to thrive. He has so much love to give, so if you have the time, the space, and the discipline, please consider adopting Kane. 🏡💕
