Building deceleration/braking qualities are an essential component to developing soccer players.

Far too often, soccer players spend too much time focusing on fitness and linear speed alone.

While both matter, the game demands athletes have the ability to break and redirect forces quickly.

The athletes who can stop efficiently and redirect their momentum are often the ones who create separation, defend effectively, and stay healthier over the course of a season.

If you want to be agile on the field and be able to cut on dime, don’t neglect building this key component of the game.

Everyone has the potential to get faster. It takes consistency, calculated training and rest. Stop wasting your time and energy on workouts that aren’t taking you closer to your goal.
