Twin parents with Littles at home most of the day for the summer, how are we holding up? 👀 Also, here’s what really happened ⬇️

My 4-year-old twins woke up as I was still getting out of bed (normally I like to get up before then but I’m in my literal phase and needed the extra few minutes to lay there and rest 😅).

I could hear them plotting and making lots of clinking noises down the hall in their bathroom. 👀

Upon opening the door, I found them there with the tub of ice cream (unopened) on their step stool with two spoons next to it. 🤣

I knew I had two options:
1. Do what I normally do and say we can’t have ice cream for breakfast. That’s an afternoon treat.

2. Let them have a scoop alongside their breakfast and make sure they know this isn’t an everyday thing 🤣

9/10 times I’d go with option 1, but today I let them have what they wanted.

Do I want them eating sugary ice cream for breakfast all the time? No.

Is it okay for us to sometimes let our kiddos have what they want (within reason) and also let ourselves evade a morning tantrum? Yes.

We can have standards. And we can also practice humility and flexibility in the moment.

Thanks to @mombossfreedom for sharing this 🤣

“I was literally giving every part of myself to these babies all day, every day, and I still didn’t feel like I was doing enough.”
One of the things I’ve been thinking about lately is how often we undervalue caregiving. We live in a culture that tends to measure productivity by things we can tick off a to-do list, emails sent, or hours worked. But caring for children doesn’t fit neatly into those boxes.
I’ve had so many conversations with mothers who tell me they feel like they “didn’t get anything done today” after spending the entire day caring for a child who is completely dependent on them. I felt that way too during my maternity leave. And Paige describes similar feelings in episode 13.
But the problem isn’t that mothers aren’t doing enough.
Maybe the problem is that we don’t value the work of caregiving enough.
I think if we placed greater value on caregiving, more mothers and parents would experience greater feelings of self-worth, instead of feeling guilty for not being “productive enough”.
Repost this if you agree.

In episode 13, Paige shares her journey to motherhood after experiencing miscarriage and fertility treatment before falling pregnant with twins.
Paige reflects on receiving a diagnosis that one of her babies had a medical condition during pregnancy, delivering her twins at 34 weeks, navigating the NICU, and the challenges of making medical decisions for her children while adjusting to life as a new mother.
She also speaks about returning to work, leaving a career she loved, identity shifts, and learning to value the work of motherhood itself.
This is an honest conversation about uncertainty, resilience, identity, and finding peace in the simple moments of family life.
Thank you so much for sharing your story Paige🤍

They put it so kindly lol…Translation: together, they act like feral creatures 🤣

Is this your twinnies? Or are yours chill when they’re together? Or maybe they stay away from each other entirely?
