🔴🎤 TEDx NorthernQuarter Speaker Highlight 🔴🎤 At just 17 years old, @naturejab_ made a decision that would shape his life — to take on one of the world’s biggest challenges: plastic waste. With no formal training, only curiosity and determination, he began teaching himself how to build, experiment, and innovate. What followed was five years of relentless trial and error, and the creation of five handcrafted prototypes — each one bringing him closer to a breakthrough. Today, @julian2brown is the Founder of NatureJAB and the inventor behind a solar-powered microwave pyrolysis reactor — a device designed to convert plastic waste into fuel. His journey has inspired a global audience, proving that innovation doesn’t come from perfect conditions, but from persistence, purpose, and belief in an idea. Beyond the lab, Julian is a certified MIG, TIG, and stick welder, an entrepreneur, and an environmentalist — as well as a black belt in karate. His creative drive extends into his skincare brand, JABaroma, where he continues to build with intention and care. This September, Julian brings his story to the TEDxNorthernQuarter stage at @stollerhall — not just to share what he’s built, but to challenge how we think about what’s possible. 🎫 Less than 1/3 of tickets remain — secure yours while you can.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the third installment of the iCreate Series: Innovation Beyond the Box featuring Julian Brown. The energy in the room was truly special — thoughtful questions, bold ideas, and a room full of creators willing to imagine new possibilities together. Moments like this remind me why iCreate exists: to build a space where innovators, artists, entrepreneurs, and thinkers across disciplines can connect and expand what creativity and leadership look like. A huge thank you to Julian Brown for sharing his journey, vision, and groundbreaking work with Plastoline — a solar-powered system designed to convert plastic waste into usable fuel. Your story reminded us all that innovation often begins with curiosity and the courage to build beyond the box. We also want to take a moment to say Happy Women’s History Month and spotlight the beverage that kept our community refreshed throughout the evening: Open Water. Co Founded by Nicole Doucet and Jess Page (@jess_page) Open Water (@drinkopenwater) is a mission-driven company working to eliminate single-use plastic through sustainable aluminum bottled water. We are grateful to feature a brand that aligns with conversations around sustainability and the future of our planet. Thank you to everyone who continues to support iCreate and trust the space we are building together. ✨ Stay tuned for more recaps from this magical evening. In the meantime… keep creating. 📸 @elizanuestro
