We track everything.
Every rep.
Every mile.
Every page.
Every day we showed up.
Every day we didn’t take that drink.
Didn’t do the bad things.

Not because we’re obsessed with data.

We track it because we need proof.
Proof we didn’t quit this time.

Because deep down, there’s a voice that remembers every other time we did. The voice of the old character. The one who started strong and vanished when it got hard. The one who let the story end with “almost.”

And we’re terrified that person is still in there.

So we log it. We count it. We screenshot it. Not for anyone else. For us.

Because if we stop tracking, how do we prove to ourselves that this time is different? That we’ve actually changed?

The truth is brutal: The past counts more than we admit. Sometimes more than the present. Because the present is only one day old. The past has years of evidence. Years of receipts that say “you fold.”

So we build new receipts. One tick at a time.

Not to impress the world. To convince that old version of us that he doesn’t run this anymore.

We track because we’re rewriting character. And until the new chapters outweigh the old ones, we need to see the proof in ink.

Keep showing up. Keep logging it. Not because you haven’t changed...

But because you’re in the middle of proving that you have.

When I lost my leg, I lost my footing in life. I didn’t know how to keep going. The thought of a future that looked nothing like the past broke me. Losing my leg took my mind with it for a while, and that was a dark, heavy place to live.

I slipped into pills. Then booze. I was terrified to face the world, or anyone in it, without something to prop me up. I woke up every morning wishing I could disappear. I still remember staring at my shaking hands as I cut open a morphine patch, desperate to drift back to sleep. And in the same breath, I was haunted by my kids. I didn’t want to let them down. I felt like a hypocrite, a failure in every way. How did this happen to me? I never meant to become addicted. This wasn’t the life I planned. But it was the life I was in.

I cried when no one was looking and smiled when everyone was. Wearing all those faces was exhausting. It was killing me.

Then one day, something shifted. The fear of dying finally outweighed the fear of living without a drink or a pill. So I stopped. And that almost killed me too.

I’ve stared death down four times. A lightning strike. A grinder disk that exploded at my chest in my 20s — the doctors couldn’t believe I was still talking. A drunk rollover I somehow crawled out of before the police even got there. Then five days in a coma, compartment syndrome taking my leg, flatlining on the ER table while doctors told Angie to call a priest and my mom. They didn’t think I’d make it.

But I did. I’m still here.

I don’t count days sober because I don’t need to. I lost the taste for it. No pills now, except vitamins. I use cannabis oil for the phantom pain, the panic attacks, the anxiety that still visits. But I’m moving forward. Fixing things day by day. Step by step.

I’m not telling you this to be a hero. I’m telling you because if you’re in that dark place, I need you to know there is a jumping-off point. You can get sober. You can set down the pain, the problems, and the people who pull you under.

You matter. And you can do whatever you choose with your life, your body, your mind.

You’re not too far gone. I’m proof.

The “Problem Child” Was Never the Problem

In every family where bottles raised voices and silence raised kids, there’s a script.
Chemical dependency numbs. Neglect distracts.
And when the house is built on both, it needs a scapegoat to hold the weight so the foundation never gets questioned.

So they pick one.
The “difficult one.”
The “too sensitive” one.
The one who asks why when everyone else pretends not to smell the smoke.

You weren’t the fire. You were the smoke alarm.
And they hated you for going off.

Here’s the truth that breaks the cycle:
Systems protect themselves, not people. A family using addiction + neglect to cope will protect the addiction and the neglect before they protect a child.
The labeled problem is usually the first solution. You noticed. You reacted. You refused to go numb. That’s not dysfunction — that’s the first sign of health in an unhealthy place.
Secrets need a decoy. If everyone stares at you, no one stares at Dad’s drinking, Mom’s disappearing, Grandma’s pills, or the 20 years nobody said “I love you” sober.

Your “attitude” was data.
Your “acting out” was a diagnostic report.
Your “drama” was the only honest thing in the room.

The pulse racing part?
You survived a house that tried to convince you you were the emergency, so they wouldn’t have to admit the whole damn building was on fire.

So if you were the one:
Stop apologizing for the alarm.
Stop carrying a last name like it’s a life sentence.
You didn’t break the family. You broke the pattern.
And patterns hate the person who sees them.

The real problems hide behind the person brave enough to feel.
You were never the problem. You were the proof.

Name yourself today: Not the problem. The whistleblower.
And whistleblowers don’t fix the leak — they leave the sinking ship and learn how to swim.

Ich will der Grund sein, warum andere Frauen sagen: Das schaffe ich auch! ❤️

2016.
Burnout.
Tiefste Depression.
Ich konnte nicht schlafen. Nicht essen. Habe extrem abgenommen. Hatte Suizidgedanken. Bin an meinem 24.

Finde dich und finde heraus was du in diesem Leben willst.

What Your Hidden Habits Are Really Telling On You

The habits you hide are the ones running your life.

Not the 5am workout you post about. The other ones. The ones that kick in when nobody’s watching.

Scroll at midnight instead of sleeping: You don’t trust tomorrow to be better than tonight. So you steal time from it.
Say yes when you mean no: You think being liked is safer than being respected. You’re trading boundaries for approval.
Start 10 projects, finish 1: You love potential more than progress. Potential can’t fail you. Finishing can.
Replay conversations for hours: You believe control happens in your head, not in your actions. So you argue with ghosts.
Clean when you’re anxious: You’d rather control your countertops than confront what’s actually messy.

Here’s the kicker: We don’t hide habits because they’re bad. We hide them because they’re honest.

They reveal what you’re afraid to admit:
That you’re tired, not lazy.
That you’re scared, not unmotivated.
That you want comfort more than change right now.
And that truth is what’s stopping you. Not the habit. The secret.

The fix isn’t willpower. It’s dropping the cover story. #keephammering #limblossawareness #mentalhealthawareness #amputee #motivation
