I got to take my parents to @ncaatogether 10th Anniversary Gala this past weekend. As immigrant parents, they were worried when I first talked about running for office last year. It was special to have them there as we talked about the impact of people stepping up and coming together to make a difference.

Over the past 10 years, @ncaatogether, North Carolina Asian Americans Together, has done so much to strengthen Asian American voices and help more people get involved in their communities.

It was great to hear from founder @chavikk , Senator @jay_chaudhuri and other local leaders, as well as comedian @jennyyangtv who had us laughing while reminding us of something very real: if you don’t do politics, politics will do you.

Congratulations to NCAAT on 10 years! I’m grateful we got to be there to celebrate it. ❤️

Three of the smartest ladies in Wake County broke down our tax policy, and what the impact of the constitutional amendment would do to our schools, public safety, and health care. People are flocking to North Carolina for our top schools and high quality of life. Coincidentally, Mississippi has rock bottom taxes, but no one wants to live there. #VoteNo

It was so good to be part of the Juneteenth celebration at the Governor’s Mansion this afternoon and join people from across North Carolina in recognizing the day, reflecting on its significance, and celebrating in community.

Juneteenth is a reminder of an important chapter in our nation’s history and the ongoing work of building a more inclusive and equitable future.

Stopped by @lhproj , The Light House Project’s annual open house this morning and learned more about the great work they are doing in our community.

The Light House Project is a Muslim community organization that brings people together through education, service, leadership development, and community programs.

It was great spending time with the community, catching up with new and old friends, and learning more about their impact across the Triangle.

Apparently, not even a heat index of “absolutely not” could keep people away from our Pride Kickoff last night. 🥵🌈

The turnout was incredible, the energy was contagious, and the atmosphere was electric from start to finish. Friends old and new packed the party, celebrated community, and helped us launch Pride Month in style!

A special thank you to Senator Chaudhuri & family for opening their home to us, and to Emma Curtis and Antonio Arellano for speaking truth to power and reminding us that progress only happens when people are willing to stand up, speak out, and get involved.

The first weekend of Pride Month is in the books, and what a weekend it was! All across the state, we saw incredible turnouts, meaningful conversations, and a powerful sense of community everywhere we went.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, share their story, volunteer, or simply celebrate alongside us. Pride is about so much more than a single event. It’s about showing up for one another and building a North Carolina where everyone belongs.

A special thank you to the elected officials, candidates, and community leaders who joined us, spoke at events, or showed their support throughout the weekend. We are grateful for the many champions of equality, dignity, and justice who continue to stand with our LGBTQ+ community.

Here’s to a month full of Pride, purpose, and plenty more road trips across North Carolina. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
