One with the team in Mumbai for the launch of @matsyaworld. It’s always a big step to make a presence in Maximum city and we hope it’s fantastic for the brand .

Between great food, a few drinks and conversations with so many familiar faces, I suddenly found myself thinking about how I came to know this city.

Twenty years ago, I arrived in Mumbai as a young girl, staying in a PG, setting up Elite Model Management and trying to find my way around a city that felt enormous and completely unfamiliar

Those were the days with no insta and no google maps !

I got to know Mumbai one person at a time

Friends who showed me cool places , colleagues who opened new doors, a landlady who fed me Gujarati food, and the boy downstairs who brought me bun maska every morning

Little by little, the city stopped feeling unfamiliar.
I eventually returned to Delhi, but over the years, Bombay has continued to feel like home in a way I can’t quite explain .

So often, people I work with assume I’m from Mumbai. May be I should stop correcting them .
Because perhaps , that’s one of the nicest things a city can give you . This feeling , that somewhere along the way, it decided you belonged…
