This performance uses dance and paint, guided by songs that Hamidi and Halimi bonded over during their shared childhood in Kampung Selamat and Kempadang Perdana, before embarking on their separate lives. Layered paint marks mimic growth and age as new experiences overwrite the old, with each music passing moment in this live action painting. Music acts as a catalyst, allowing their commingled memories to paint itself into reality.

This was the first time we ever collaborated as siblings. It started when @playstesen reached out us, as she is curating Soft Soft Sands for @kuarts.festival

Without hesitation, we said yes to that and executing to combine music, dance, paint, and coffee together into the live action painting.

We don't have much to say about Kuantan literally. But we have more to express throughout the playlists of music we used to listen together during our childhood journey there, which marked our present journey.

Day 1 of KuArts Festival begins with a special opening performance by siblings Nur Khairi Hamidi and Monalimi.

Through a live action painting and dance performance, accompanied by music that interweaves childhood memories, the duo invites us into a shared journey of recollection, connection, and creativity.

Join us tonight 8pm at Hock Bee as we open the festival with this unique collaboration where movement, sound, and visual art come together in real time.
