*Just under a week left* of Béaloideas (folklore) by Mona O’Driscoll @uillinnwestcorkarts open Monday-Saturday 10am- 4pm First presented on Sherkin Island, Béaloideas by Mona O’Driscoll is a multidisciplinary project exploring the relationship between place, memory, oral history and community. Developed over three years in collaboration with Sherkin island residents, the project documents 158 local landmarks, many of which exist beyond the boundaries of official cartography, preserving the stories, memories and place names associated with them. The exhibition comprises four interconnected elements. At its centre is a large-scale map based on an 1845 map of Sherkin Island, overlaid with GPS coordinates marking 158 landmarks, including pathways, shortcuts, stiles, gates, gaps, wells and other locally significant sites. Commissioned by @cpwestcorkislands The Arts Council / An Comhairle Ealoín @artscouncilireland Cork County Council Arts Office @corkcountyartsoffice, with thanks to @uillinnwestcorkarts Various images from events surrounding the launch Mona O’ Driscoll headshot @havemannphoto

Just have to say a huge THANK YOU to this crowd of people who helped raise €13.500 for local kids with mental health issues and their families. People making a difference for their friends and neighbors. Take a bow. You’re all stars. In a time that is hard for a lot of families, the cream floats to the top to come help. Well done. X
