I made a trip to @monasbarnyc on Monday for @monasbluegrass to see my boy @oneptwoz absolutley crush. I even sang #sincity w/ @ndrewsheron rounding out the 3 part harmony. What a nice moment. I'll be at @irishartscenter featuring for @bigcityfolk on Thursday at Song Club. Reserve your free ticket on the website. I'll sing the new sad songs that update the old sad songs. Music from 7-10pm.

The best thing about being in NYC is finding out that my high school friend and orchestra mate from the 80's @conalfowkes - back in England - is playing a jazz gig at @monasbarnyc. His talent - along with his fellow band mates is insane.

One of the best things about being a Gen Xer at our age that we are actually really good at what we do 💪💪💪

A rhythmical and moving clip art ode to @monasbarnyc

one of our top pubs here in dear new yawk - a few years ago @grantaidan invited me to hang in the quieter hours and take some sounds of the bar crafted by his years of creative (and musical) conscious he played some iconic bar scrapes and dings with glasses, stirrers, bottles, and corks. Finally got to compiling a short excerpt of our afternoon, the cash register, cans, ice scoops and Aidan’s finger glass make some melodies, perhaps some more shorts will surface but for now, thank you for making this musical city what it is

It’s 205AM late Tuesday night early Wednesday morning, and while most of the world is fast asleep if you really wanna feel for the zest and spirit of New York, the place to be is Mona’s Bar on Avenue B at 14th St. Where Jon Webber holds down the jam session on the upright piano at this dive bar institution with a he Irish barkeep and photographer exceptional Aidan laying down the booze and law and order until the “wee small hours” in the morning. Autumn in New York it’s good to live it again.
