●Elisabeth Harnik is an internationally renowned Austrian pianist, composer, and sound artist based in Graz. As one of the most distinctive voices in European free improvisation, her performance style is characterized by a deep exploration of sonic boundaries. She treats the piano not just as a keyboard instrument, but as a complex resonating body and percussion system, navigating a constant tension between extreme physicality and deep insight.

●Through her experimental style on the bass clarinet, Susanna Gartmayer explores abstract soundscapes that range from raw energy to minimalism. She elicits polyphony from the instrument using split tones, weaves endless soundscapes through circular breathing, and uses the key mechanism as a percussion instrument in its own right. Alongside Didi Kern and Thomas Berghammer, she curates the legendary Monday Improvisers Session at Vienna's Celeste club. This year, she brings this legendary free music format to the Grazer Impro Fest, hosting a special edition at the iconic Café Stockwerk, a beloved venue for jazz and experimental music for decades, located right in the heart of Graz at Jakominiplatz.

●The Monday Improvisers Session in the basement of Vienna’s Celeste club is the most important weekly hub for free, multi-idiomatic improvisation in Austria. Its history began in 2005, when American free-jazz saxophonist Marco Eneidi launched the series! The overarching concept breaks with elitist conventions and emphasizes radical accessibility across free impro, new music, noise and electronic music.
