Brides, here’s your friendly reminder: Getting into your wedding dress is a full moment.

It’s emotional. It’s detailed. And it’s essential to how you feel stepping into the rest of your day.

Here’s what I’ve seen (and why it’s important to plan for it.)

🕐 It takes longer than you think
📸 Rushing means fewer portraits
😌You deserve time to breathe, adjust, soak it in

Add “Brides gets in dress” to your timeline, make it intentional, so you can be present in this moment, and I’ll capture the rest.

Already married?? Tell future brides how long it really took to get dressed 👇🏾

Future Atlanta brides and beyond — save this post your timeline will thank you

This was one of the most emotional and unexpected weddings I’ve ever been a part of. The morning before the wedding, the bride called with unimaginable news: the groom’s father had tragically passed away the night before.
After careful thought, they chose to move forward with a modified celebration—an intimate ceremony followed by a quiet dinner reception. Many of the vendors were close with the family and deeply affected by the loss. The groom’s father had played a major role in supporting the couple and making this day possible, and honoring him became the quiet undercurrent of the entire day.

It wasn’t a typical joyful wedding, but it was powerful in its own way—full of emotion, resilience, and ultimately a celebration of love and family through heartbreak.

On a design note: this was also my first ceremony in the Callanwolde Courtyard with long rectangular tables flipped for dinner in the same space—you can see the layout in the detail shots.

Weddings are never just about the pretty things. They’re about people, and sometimes, the human side of these days brings the most unforgettable stories.
