Huge shout out to these ladies for hanging out with us last night in Chicago while we were dealing with an emergency back at home. Minutes before they all started to arrive we found out I ur son fell, hit his head 🤕 and had a nasty knot the size of a goose egg. So we did what we could to organize the Grandma’s at home and get him to an urgent care.
.
All the while, these ladies hung out with us and kept us calm while we fought the urge to hop on the last flight out of Chicago.
.
The good news is we’re home now and our son is ok. But this experience was a great reminder of how important it is to have a community to lean on. Between family, friends and internet aunties, we’re covered in blessings. 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Be more fun.
⠀
I just got back from @finconexpo and here are three takeaways
⠀
1️⃣ Have more fun
2️⃣ Set Boundaries
3️⃣ Ask Yourself: What do you love talking about? (more on this in the comments)
⠀
👉 You need to be more fun. Seems pretty simple, right?
⠀
But yet, we spend time worrying about what others might think, so we stay off the dance floor or away from the mic (Confession: I love karaoke. One year living in South Korea and a voice like Miley Cyrys, I was made for this).
⠀
We choose comfort over adventure and we choose living small over living BIG. James @rethinktheratrace and Cody @codydberman, reminded me to have more fun. They’re always making me laugh. They are also a great reminder that you can be crushing it in business and be silly, super fun and kind all at the same time. It pains me to not include a photo of James at the FIN CON farewell party. Picture this: he is on the dance floor taking off his shirt during, Nelly’s “Hot In Herre.” song.
⠀
👉 Allison @inspiredbudget shared that you “must set boundaries around your life so you know what you can say yes to and what you should say no to.”
⠀
This week, I am saying no to responding to text messages. I tend to put others' needs above my own. Anyone else?
⠀
This week, I am going to leave you on read and I am not sorry. Baggerly talked about how saying “No” to things allowed her to say “Yes” to the things that really matter. This week, I am going to be 100% present at a mastermind. I encourage you, too, to say "No" to something this week.
⠀
What can you say no to this week? 👇
