At 13, I was homeless, bounced from place to place because my mom was battling addiction.
At 20, I bought a $60,000 car.

Since then: traveling the world, speaking on stages, becoming a bestselling author.
It didn't start with a plan. It started with one thought: "Why not me?"

Your past doesn't get a vote on your future. Ask yourself the same question today.

A coworker came back from lunch crying.

He'd been written up for taking too long in the bathroom.

We were making this company millions of dollars in revenue, and they cared about three minutes.
That night I told my best friend, "I'm quitting. I'm done."

Crazy part? I was making more money than everyone I knew.

Some decisions aren't about money. They're about how you want to live.

25 degrees outside. Every drive-thru within five miles.

75 cents at a sandwich shop felt like striking gold. Ducking under the Wendy's window at 2 a.m. so no one would see.

Home at 3 a.m. Counted the change.
$4.

That's what rock bottom looked like. And it's part of why the comeback means so much.

If you're in your $4 night right now, keep going.

One phone call. Two questions.

"How many of your clients are financially free?"

None. Even the retired ones worry about running out of money.

"How many of the advisors are financially free, from investing, not commissions?"
None. Maybe one guy. And it turned out he wasn't either. All hat, no cattle.

Be careful who you take money advice from. Ask if they're living the results.

Spring 2009. They sold off everything.

They hid the family car in the garage so it wouldn't get repossessed.

August 2009, his wife asked the question he couldn't answer: "When are we actually going to get out of this mess?"

His reply: "I don't know. But I know we're going to get out of this. And one day I'm going to say I told you so."

Belief doesn't always come with a timeline. Sometimes it just comes with a door slam and a drive to work.

At first the prayer was, "God, if you pull me out of this, I'll be a better servant."

Then it became, "God, I don't care if this takes 20 years. I'll keep doing what's right."

That was the breakthrough. Letting go of every expectation of where he "should" be. Following the right principles and trusting that it would pay off at the right time.

Sometimes the turning point isn't pushing harder. It's surrender.
Have you had your "screw it" moment yet?

"People want to be where I am, but they don't want to do what I've done."

One of the truest things I've ever heard at a dinner table.

People see the results. They don't see the borrowed rent money. The repossessed car. The nothing-to-my-name, living-off-ramen-noodles season.

Success has a price. Most people only want the receipt.

Tag someone who's in their ramen noodle season right now.

If someone tells you their business worked from day one, don't trust them.

Before the $100K months and million-dollar years, there were times I borrowed money from my girlfriend just to pay our rent.

Here's the truth: business is not an idea game. It's not a dream game. It's not an "I think I can help people" game.

It's a skills game.
The pain is your ticket of admission. Are you willing to pay it?

He needed $3,500 a month to live.

Within the year he had $4,000 to $5,000 a month coming in from investments and business streams.

He handed off the work, kept the referrals coming, and was living the four-hour work week before the book even existed.

28 years old. Able to retire.

It did not happen overnight. The mindset shift took months. But once it clicked, the possibilities opened up.
Save this if you're working on your own shift.

By 2008 he was on food stamps. On welfare. Over a million dollars in debt.

And people kept telling him, "I'd love to know what you know, I just don't have the money."

Instead of walking away, he asked one question: "If I can help you find the money, would you pay me?"

That question changed everything. When you figure out what people want and help them get it, you get what you want too.

What question are you not asking yet? Drop it below.

Only 2% of people with retirement accounts ever hit a million dollars.

Read that again. Then ask yourself why we’re still following the same playbook.

This week on the Tactical Harmony Show, I sat down with @chriscmiles , cash flow expert and unapologetic anti-financial advisor who helps high-income earners stop grinding and start building real freedom. He founded @moneyripples to help you multiply your money.

Chris watched his own father do everything “right.” Debt free by 61. 401k maxed out. And still unable to retire.

That broke something open for him.

In this episode we get into:

→ Why accumulation is not a strategy and acceleration is
→ Why scarcity mindset shows up in your business as underpricing and overworking
→ Why the fastest path to income growth is solving a bigger problem

This conversation will challenge how you think about money, freedom, and what retirement actually looks like, friends.

You’ve spent years saving. Your next 20 minutes could be worth more than your last 20 years of putting money away.

Most people spend their lives chasing a bigger net worth. But here’s the question nobody asks:
What good is a high net worth if it doesn’t create freedom?

Because wealth isn’t just about what you own.
It’s about what pays you.
You can have assets on paper and still feel trapped.
Still worry about bills.
Still depend on a paycheck.
Still feel like you can’t stop working.

The goal isn’t just to accumulate money.
The goal is to build a life where your money works for you. Because financial freedom isn’t measured by how much you have.

It’s measured by how much freedom your income creates.

Watch the full episode on YouTube and discover the mindset shifts that change how you think about wealth, freedom, and financial independence.
