People saw success in Miami and assume this training block is what set me up for that success

Don’t get me wrong every prep is a piece of the overall puzzle, but I was 250lbs my freshman year of college on antidepressant medication. Being in shape was a pipe dream. I didn’t even know what that meant and if you told me at the time what the work would have entailed, I would have quit before I started.

I quit so many times in the early stages of losing weight, but once I found consistency and momentum, I ran with it.

5-6 years spent weight lifting quickly shifted to running

At minimum, a weekly Saturday marathon at 4 am with a group of dudes on the Jersey Shore boardwalk was my normal Saturday for a year

I am not talented. I was one of the slowest kids on every baseball team I’ve ever been on.

The only thing that changed who I am now is how I stopped avoiding the work

I leaned into the uncomfortable. I avoided running, so I ran more…I was slow, so I did speed work… the work is the shortcut, anything else is the long way and sometimes even a dead end.

The funniest thing about running is the first time around it often feels impossible and you question how other people even do it. Most people stop there they dnf or have a shitty race and that’s ends their story. “This must not be for me”. If you are willing to stop it’s not for you but if you choose to attempt what first feels impossible something shifts. You realize it’s all possible. You can race the distance you are scared to even run but you have to try.

Most people will beat me in a 5k and I don’t care, that’s not what I built. What I built is endurance and the ability to burn for as long as I have to. That I am damn good at this is just the start.… #fyp #running #ultrarunning

Huge thank you to my people 💙 @gabngrind @monfaredalexander @abu_guerges …. I would still be running if it wasn’t for you

Thank you to @miami100ultra for a fun event

I take big swings. Sometimes you square the ball up and things go your way, other times you miss by a mile

This race I missed by a mile. I knew the heat would be a big factor coming from NJ, where the last few weeks have felt like Fall. Running a 100 miler in 90° Miami heat and humidity was a tall order, but that doesn’t mean I won’t try.

Another key element to this race is following directional cards with step by step turns

I made a few wrong turns and had to stop a handful of times to confirm I was going the right way

These aren’t excuses, these are facts. The reality is in the heat, 15-16 hours was not going to happen. I was on pace for roughly the first 40-50 miles, but during the day it got too hot and I had to pull back if I wanted to see it through.

With that being said I was able to secure first place and given how I’ve felt the last few days I’d say I gave this race everything I had on that day. Effort is something I’ll always hang my hat on.

I will always set big goals and work for them. Sometimes things work out, sometimes they don’t, but I’m not someone who beats myself up if they don’t. I give 100 percent effort on the given day and the chips will fall how they may.

Thank you to everyone who reached out. Next up is the @daytona100ultrarace in December. This should be much cooler in temps and a 100 mile PR is a lock. Proud of my effort but not satisfied

If I said "one last post" about the @onedollarultra I'd be lying. I'll think of something new to say about this insane weekend every other day. And I have videos from every single lap that show my decline into madness that I have to share eventually. But for now, @federicobarrionuevo and @nyctrail.run captured some moments from this race that are too good not to share.

A bunch of us have been chatting since the race, and we all agree that it feels like we lived a lifetime over these 26 to 33 hours. And in a lifetime there are a million little amazing moments that get lost to time as memories fade. And memories fade fast when they happen 28 hours into a heat stroke inducing race. These pictures helped us relive some of those already forgotten moments and it's so cool to have them back.

I'll let the pictures talk mostly for themselves. But I have to say the best part of this fever dream of an event was the people. From the competitors that became friends, to the organizers who made miracles happen, and the awesome people that were there to crew and cheer for us along the way. Incredible across the board.

I couldn't have even tried this, let alone make it to mile 133.4, without my support crew. @nsalenetri who ran with me as the Knicks won in 5, went home to take care of our toddler who was with @trishypatti (thank you!), then came back to complete her ultramarathon distance run, getting 3 more laps out of me than I thought were possible. @nyctrail.run who was there at 6AM Saturday, battled police barricades to try and come back after midnight, and still came back as the race dwindled down to just two of us on Sunday. And @cjsg108 who kept me from getting lost in the morning laps, went and lived a normal life, and then came back on Sunday to help eek one last lap out of me when I was ready to crumble.

@vkennedy18 is a machine. I'm still convinced @annealmalise
Is better than me at these. @mattkondrup can run more "last laps" than most can start. And @neeeecolas looked as good at mile 100 as he did at 10. Crazy people, all of you. Especially you @austinoffthegrid and @vic_zee.

all smiles over here after 72miles!!! my first ultra complete & right in my own backyard!!!

This weekend was the perfect mix of insanity, fun, grit & sheer stubbornness.

72 miles in 17 hours… still not sure how it happened, but it did. Prior to this, my longest run was a marathon. I went in naive… goal started at 40 miles, moved to 50, & somehow we just kept it rolling through the 90-degree heat, tourists, traffic, bright lights, and police barricades. Turns out you can go pretty far on adrenaline, good company, and chaos.

Reflecting on this race, this was the most fun I’ve ever had. I’ve always loved the mental aspect of running. Showing up, getting it done, and finding a way no matter the weather, terrain, or pain. When it comes to running the mind has always been my safe space.

My dad raised me on these principles to just dig deep and get it done. Although tough, those principles chiseled me into the human I am today. It’s all mental. It’s always you vs. you. The body will outlast the mind, but will your mind let it? Hitting a second wind past mile 60 proved to me just how true that is. Euphoric, truly.

The energy, grit, camaraderie, and community out there was something special. I met so many amazing superhumans, felt so much support, and left so inspired.

Huge thank you to @vic_zee, @austinoffthegrid for creating something so incredibly special. And to @federicobarrionuevo for capturing this insane event. To all the friends I made along the way… you made it all the more fun! 🤟🏼 I’ll be riding this high for a while.

Same time next year??? I’m bringing more $1s… I plan to stay awhile longer

Managed a 16th overall and 6th female finish. Curious to see what the next chaotic adventure is… possibilities seem to be endless❤️‍🔥
