Lucy was back on her first stage at Matsos brewery with her beautiful band The Maeflowers at Sisters of Song with so many of her musical mentors in the crowd. The magic of it perfectly captured by their song Museum. 🎶🥰

Superb performances by Crest of Crows and Albert Wiggan last night.
This song written by Stephen Pigram 44 years ago resonates strongly today. Naomi and Bart have slowed the pace to emphasise the story. Naomi’s vocals are so powerful. For those who care about Broome town and see what’s happening, this has a poignancy beyond measure. ‘Shanghai’s in the kitchen’ - ‘Goodbye Broome town, how long you gonna last?’.
It’s time for civic leadership that respects Country, people and the incredible cultural heritage that we’re all so fortunate to be able to experience.
Let’s support local music and storytellers. This event is a monthly series through the dry season - Kimberley Campfire Sessions - organised by @moniquebroome
For those wanting an incredible cultural and musical experience, make sure you go to the Big spirit Country shows in Broome at the beginning of September.

Nostalgia
I just received a bottle of Bundaberg Original Underprooved Rum. In times where you can buy - thanks to @karlsbergbrauerei - Bundaberg Ginger Brew in nearly every supermarket all over Germany, I still have to pay about 70€ for 700ml for a relatively average rum made from sugar cane from Queensland / Australia.

I bought it anyway and I would have been willing to pay even more. There are two things which I really associate with Australia: Bundaberg rum and the pub rock band Cold Chisel with Jimmy Barns. In retrospective there is not much to say about Jimmy Barns, but a Bundy’n’Coke will always take me back in my memories to the my trip trough the Northern Territory in particular the Kimberley where I met some wonderfull people.

Followed by my journey trough Queensland, where I had a flat tire right next to the railroad crossing of the cane train - the train which transports the harvested sugar cane to the distillery. It was already dark, some people living next to railroad where already trying to help me with my tire. Unfortunately we were not successful, so we decided to sit down and have some beer. We were really having a great time, then suddenly the cane train stopped at the railroad, just to find out that some drunk people are having a party at the railroad crossing. After some time he sounded the horn and kept on going …

Exactly 20 years ago I prepared myself for my first real adventure: a back packing trip to Australia. My flight was scheduled sometime in march 2002. This year, in march 2022, I am starting my next adventure and I am really very very excited that it’s finally starting.
