We have been overwhelmed by all of the donations to the bookshop crowdfunder. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated or shared the link. There are now just a few days to go, and we'd love your help to try and reach ยฃ10,000. This would enable us to cover the costs of additional staffing and admin and help us keep the space open next year. The GoFundMe page will close at the end of the day on Friday 23 October. Keep spreading the word!

Last summer redux! The final fling of an uncomfortably hot summer, launching Samatar Elmi's new collection on @kulvert_books, Agen Bien Fou, with support from @nellosborne reading new work Seฬances Near Me, forthcoming from @spitepress. So distinct in tone and affect, yet both unsparing and political, in their own ways. An excellent evening. Nell then chaired the Bristol launch of @galia_melon's Somebody Should Have Pressed Record, on @strangeregionpress, a long-form experimental text about the speaker's parasocial relationship with Joseph Gilgun, why not. It's as odd and brilliant as that sounds.

Really excited about this show @nan_moors_bar_venue_todmorden next month. Maria W Horn is one of my fave artists, plus a reading by the mega Lila Matsumoto, so it's a dream support slot. I've done a very limited run of A2 screen printed versions of the poster. They'll be for sale on the night, or before if you DM me. ยฃ25 plus p&p. @_mariawhorn @monitorbooks @nan_moors_bar_venue_todmorden

This month's edition of Endpapers on @noodsradio is a beautiful guest mix from poet and drummer Remi Graves (@shadebutter). Huge thanks to Remi for putting this together! Remi says: "Had fun stitching this mix together, itโ€™s a collage of ambient music I play when I want to write or get out of my head, some unreleased demos from my band @rusbandofficial and tracks that I just love listening to. "I also threw in a sound piece I made for Bow Arts a while back after looking into The Phoenix Garden archive (that cute oasis behind the Odeon (RIP) in Shaftesbury Avenue). The garden was a disused car park until a group of volunteers came together in 1980s to give it new life. They built a pond, planted feverfews, mullein, yarrowโ€ฆ the garden is still in use today. All this to say, this is music to keep you going xx" -- If you're looking for something to read while listening to this dreamy mix, I'd highly recommend either of Remi's excellent poetry titles - 'with your chest' (@14poems) and 'Coal' (@monitorbooks). Tracklist in story highlights, and link to listen back in bio โ›…

@nan_moors_bar_venue_todmorden & @monitorbooks present Maria W. Horn, John Powell-Jones & Lila Matsumoto live performances at the beautiful Fielden Hall in Todmorden on Saturday 19 September. ยฃ16 adv. Doors 5pm. Will def be a bar and hopef some delicious food ! @mariawhorn, a composer hailing from the north of Sweden, based in Stockholm since 2011. Maria w Horn is interested in the manipulation of time and space through sonic extremes - oscillating between minimalist structures and piercing power electronics utilizing both digital and analog synthesis as well as acoustic instruments and audiovisual components. @johnpowell_jones is a UK-based artist whose work spans sculpture, animation, print and installation. Drawing on horror, folklore and the visual language of videogames, he creates speculative worlds populated by mutated beings and unstable technologies. Plastic Language, vol. 23 1am, 05/08/2026, ch. 1ย @nts_radio This volume focuses on the work ofย @alan_fielden, which is read here by both Alan and his friends. There are recordings of Alan reading his poems solo on Peckham Rye, a polyvocal piece read with @jemimayong on a busy junction in Peckham, and a variety of voices reading from Alan's 99 Plays during an event called 'Hope So' at the wonderful @ivyhousenunhead, all interspersed with musical selections from Alan. Alan's work holds a lot of love, crisis, noise and beauty, and it's been a great joy putting this all into an hour of radio Thanks Alan for the poems, plays and ideas, and special thanks to Rory at Monitor Books (@r_r_c_o_ ;ย @monitorbooks)ย and Jemima Yong (and Juniper) for all the help putting this together. Thanks also to Sasha Elina (@sashaaeeea) for contributing a completely stunning flute piece for this. And of course, thanks to the readers:ย Bart Seng Wen Long,ย Kaisa Saarinen,ย Vlad Skofenko,ย Hestia Peppe,ย Nat Norland,ย Tara Fatehi,ย Peter Ely, Rey Conquer, Jess Stacey and Robert Stearn.
