So honored to be sharing some of my most treasured records this week at Portland’s premiere listening gallery @mono___space This presentation, entitled “Any Audible Distortion is Intended” is a cross section of the prodigal composer/producer Nicolas Jaar. Jaar is a visionary whose work represents a paradigm shift in how we conceive, create, and experience electronic music as high art. This program features a wide range of Jaar’s recordings, which are ideal works for attentive listening. The exceptional fidelity provided by the OJAS system empowers the listener to experience the full compositional depth, textural complexity, and dynamic range of Jaar’s work. Although the events sold out in just a few hours, I am optimistic this will not be my last appearance here 🤞

#AKClient @mono___space announces its fall programming, inviting audiences to slow down, listen closely, and experience recorded music through new perspectives. The season brings together album deep dives, artist-led listening sessions, and curated Gallery Hours, exploring the intersections of music, art, design, and culture. Highlights include Nicolas Jaar: Any Audible Distortion Is Intended presented by Adie Rae; Gallery Hours curated by designer and music selector Tina Snow Le; a full-album listen of John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme; Enya’s Shepherd Moons; Sound & Body with Carina Cha; and Elegant Soul, tracing sounds from late-1960s soul-jazz and Philadelphia soul through quiet storm and later R&B. Head to @mono___space space to discover more! 🎶

Last night, we kicked off our “A Month Supreme” at Mono Space with our Green Room members. KMHD DJs took on the impossible task of picking one John Coltrane tune to play for those in attendance. Thanks to Mono Space for hosting, Rubato for the Wine, Miss’ipi Chefs for the food, and all of our Green Room members for coming out and their support. We look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events celebrating the 100th birthday of John Coltrane. ✨🎶🎷

Yesterday evening I had the absolute honor of photographing Sid’s “Blood Orange, Essex Honey” Album Listening event at Mono Space. Sid (@___sidpai) has been a part of Mono Space since the very beginning. His openness to try new things, his passion for bringing people together, and his unwavering kindness and talent has brought so much to the space. Last night, Sid put on his first ever Album Listening event at @mono___space. His presentation was outstanding, due to his vast knowledge of @devhynes’s album, but also his brilliant ability to understand the roots of Essex Honey’s sound, it’s influences, and it’s impact. The event sold out very quickly, due to the fact that those who know.. know how wonderful Album Listening events are at Mono Space, but also due to the amount of dear friends that came to support Sid on this journey. To say the room was full of warmth, appreciation for the art form, and respect for Sid and all he has done to arrive to this point, is to say only a fraction of the magic that occurred yesterday evening. I have been a member of Mono Space since the beginning, and witnessing the labor of love that the entire team has put into this listening gallery has been an absolute gift. I encourage all lovers of music to check out their programs at https://mono-space.org/. Here’s to many more events led by the greatness that is Sid. Sincerely, Sinclair Studio - More information about Mono Space from their website: “Mono Space is a high fidelity listening gallery dedicated to the preservation of music culture and the presentation of music recordings as works of art.   Located in a renovated warehouse in Portland’s historic Pearl District, this nonprofit venture provides opportunities for collective deep listening experiences, while offering public programming that opens up the layered worlds of recorded music, past and present.”
