I started these dinners a couple months ago as an experiment. A way to connect folks across backgrounds, industries, points of view, lived experiences, focus, and passion. After three dinners and 111 people, I’ve learned that we are craving human connection and ways to show up as our full, authentic and messy selves. (Not just our titles) Identity and belonging are so important for our community and our well being. A few of the folks that have joined us include: The CMO of @firstavenue (they are currently hiring!). The new CEO of @monoagency . The founder of @thrivewithvyve and lead of the @thecmopodcast Community. The Executive Director of @coated_in_love_mn . Community impact leaders for the Timberwolves and Lynx. A board member of @hennepinarts A gallery owner shaping contemporary photography for 30 years. @joycollaborative_ . A voice for 62 million unpaid family caregivers. @rendever.health , bringing VR to senior living to fight loneliness. Founders of a luxury sneaker brand @grail_brand , a DTC jewelry brand grown through Instagram DMs @baddieafbeads , a personal care line for boys, @evendrink NA cocktail company, a sauna accessories brand, a national mental health platform @joincadre , and a nonprofit refinancing predatory debt to zero. And the texture that makes the room: cancer survivors, new moms, single moms, single dads, people recently laid off, immigrants, farm boys turned CEOs, founders with wood-burning saunas in their backyards, coaches and connectors who quietly hold it all together. My biggest takeaway: people are craving spaces to show up as more than their LinkedIn title. We all have so much depth. We all want to be seen as our fully authentic selves.
