“Kept in Time”, A New Musical by Rowan Simonelli, examines the lives of Holocaust victims, particularly one family, as they adjust and adapt to a new life in America. Throughout the Holocaust and World War II, Gershon and his father survived and kept his two sisters and mother alive by repairing the watches of the Nazi guards. When the war ended, the entire family had survived, only for Gershon’s mother to die shortly after. The family makes the hard decision to start a new life in America, not knowing what awaits them.

4 songs from this show will be performed following the "StoryLab" performance on June 10th, at 6:30 in the Little Theatre.

Vashti and Sumayyah grow up side by side, while both being of different religious groups. When they are teenagers, a violent extremist group begins to rise in Vashti's religion, creating division and oppression between their communities.

Though both initially resist, Vashti is gradually influenced to support the group, and places their friendship and Sumayyah’s safety at risk. As tensions rise, their relationship is tested in a world that becomes increasingly unrecognizable.
