The incredible @officialgabrielamontero returns to The @ebenezertheater this Saturday for Creatio Ex Nihilo, an improvisation-focused recital where she’ll create spontaneous compositions inspired by a selection of classical works.

Born in Venezuela, Montero began studying piano at age four and made her concerto debut at age eight in her hometown of Caracas. Renowned for her exceptional musicality and improvisational talent, she has performed with many of the world’s leading orchestras while remaining dedicated to bringing world-class musicians, music education, and community engagement to Easton. It promises to be a memorable evening!

Every week is different but this is what last week looked like for me. What remains constant: a little bit every day goes a long way, breaks and rest are important when learning a new role. Even 15 min a day makes a difference.

Also, we are singers and we can’t practice as much as instrumentalists, so practice sessions are sometimes speaking text, listening back to our lessons, or working through staging. And warm-ups are imperative!!! Just like days off.

Happy practicing y’all! 🎹 #opera #operasinger #classicalmusic #singer practicemakesprogress

Looking back on a magical few days with Gabriela Montero at the final residency of her @oacademy.live Piano Lab in picture-perfect Easton, MD🥰
Gabriela is an utterly incomprehensible human vessel, pouring music, wisdom, and kindness in all directions. It is a privilege to be in her presence, to learn from her, to be inspired by her, and to witness her arrestingly beautiful smile—filling any room, and all the hearts within it. ❤️🙏

And it was a true joy to witness lessons and performances of all of my new friends in our cohort - their talents so bright and so different from one another, and every one of them being an exceptionally sweet person! I cannot wait to meet and hear them all again🤗🎹❤️

‘Alexander Shelley, artistic and music director designate of the Pacific Symphony, is showing himself to be a master of orchestral technique. Under his baton, the orchestra sounds fantastically prepared and motivated, like a major ensemble, perhaps better than it ever has before.‘ Review by @culture_oc

One more chance TONIGHT to hear @pacificsymphony and @pacific_chorale combined for Ravel’s mighty masterpiece ‘Daphnis and Chloe’ and to celebrate the music and artistry of my friend Gabriela Montero, performing her own Latin Concerto!

What a privilege it was to play in this beautiful space for the ceremony of the Société Académique Arts-Sciences-Lettres ✨
My mentor, the wonderful Gabriela Montero, was awarded a medal but couldn’t be there in person, so she kindly asked me to play in her place. Thank you, dear Gabriela, for your trust and for this special opportunity ❤️🎹

With my dear friend, the ever-brilliant Gabriela Montero after last week’s season opening concerts with the Naples Philharmonic at Artis—Naples. She is a regular and beloved guest in Naples and we thank her for kicking off our ‘E pluribus unum’ themed season in such style!

Gaby and I will be reuniting in California in just a couple of weeks to perform her Latin Concerto with @pacificsymphony in a program that also features @pacific_chorale in Ravel’s complete Daphnis and Chloe…
