We had a nice familly holiday in Meteora. The szenery is just stunning and the climbing on those pebbles is like dancing and exactly my style.
Unfortunately we found no stunning line to open since the rock quality can be very bad there. There are also some areas in thoses walls without holds at all and we did not want to open a semi-free-line.
So we just climbed mostly 2 or 3 routes a day and had dinner at the campground
since they are short.

Yesterday we had a nice day climbing outside right next to the view point of "Großer Zschirnstein". The air was so clear that we saw almost half of all the climbing areas around Elbe Valley. Thanks for Michael Meyer for the climbing pictures of me.

Last week Stephan Isensee and I visited the Gesäuse mountain range in Austria.
A small but impressive collection of limestone walls. We climmbed Superwix 9+ ( oblig 9-) in a day and and there was no daylight left after we send all the pitches so we had to rapel in the dark.
I think this route dont have to hide for there quality and comitment and even in Wendenstöcke it would be a route to recommend.
Thankes for the FA:
R. Roithinger, W.Kerndler, O. Koutny, M. Hartmann and R. Schirl for this nice route.

Picture Nr 5 is mad by Helene Bärnthaler, thanks for this nice perspective from the Pertersteig.

How long it takes to place a bolt on Hægefjell on least if you have a good stance. Filmed by Michael Meyer during our first accent Jörmungandre and untill I pulled in the rope for cliping :-)

Thomas Hering and Tillmann Walter repeated our new route Blåbærmonsteret at Ufshomfjellet and it was climed on sight.
Good job boys.
Either we had bad conditio s with those hot temps and / or our grading was to hard.
We will see what other repeaters say but the loved it.
Thanks for this nice feedback.

The last day climbing and rope solo in Bohuslan.
It was funny to try and optimise something new but climbing alone I miss the social interaction.
I also felt much more scared than trad climbing with a friend.
Its even more impressive that @keitakurakami freed The Nose on El Capitan this way.👍👍👍

"Blåbærmonsteret" another new route in Setesdal area opened. Perhaps the hardest and the most substained. In my opinion the most beautifull one, looking at the climbing moves.
Normaly granit climbing here in Nissedal is not that often homogenous. The routes have mostly single move problems and than they are much easier. On "Blåbærmonsteret" I got quite pumped while bolting especially with the powerdrill on my back. So granitwise I would compare the route with Urdviki and the style is more like Rätikon. You have to find the right way and you have to commit inbetween the bolts. It is not just slab dancing and its almost a sport climb.

The good thing on bolting ground up is that you never know whats comming. On the one hand I always hope that its going to be very demandig on the other hand I hope there are enough holds to climb it free. So its hard find the right wall that suits your needs.
Luckily here in Nissedal are plenty of free walls.

The route was named after the blueberry monster who opened the route with me and had to stop at every bush to eat some blueberrys. Luckily the approach from is just 5 Minutes which is quite comfortable.

1. Sl 11 bolts , 55m, 8-
2. Sl, 8 bolts, 35m, 9-
3. Sl, 10 bolts, 55m, 7
4. Sl, 13 bolts, 55m, 9+
5. Sl, 8 bolts, 50m, 7+

Hægefjell is the Halfdome of Norway and offers excelent granit climbing. In 2023, and 2025 Michael Meyer and I already opened 2 routes there (Vinland Saga and Möllnir). One outstanding line in one of the steepest walls was missing. Last week we completed this one and it went up not as straight as we wished. It was meandering during the pitches like a snake. So finaly the name was set "Jörmungandre" the Midgards Snake. On a 450 m face going left and right ist not that bad and we were lucky that it all went free. The first day was quite cold and windy so comunication was hard and we were quicker out of battery than expected.

We left our bag at the top of pitch 6 and were happy and tired to be back at the ground in the evening. That was the point were we tryed to gather all the gear we had accidently droped and when Michael asked me if I took tha car key out of the back. Unfortunatly I did not. So we were on the ground and the car key was 6 pitches higher.
To our luck we had still a litte bit of phone reception at the base of the wall and called Götz Wichmann who was at the Nisser Camping as well. He is not just the author of the local guidebook he instantly offered to drive up the 30 minutes to Hægefjell and pick us up. To our luck we had a spare keys at the camping he could bring us.
On the next day on the route we started early and had finished and send the route at 2pm but it was baking hot and no wind at all. So the sandflies were eating us alive till we reached the bag wis the moskito net. At least from there on we could breath witoute swallowing hundreds of sandflys.

67 bolts were placed + 20 on the belays topos and pictures attached.

--> A mistake in the topo the crux apitch has 11 bolts not 4.

With Exquilibruum, Merlin, EAER 47 and Matahari we climbed some amazing arrets there.
But there were some cracks we enjoyed like Seepferdchen, Kelle des Knopfgießers, Wilde 16, Fegefeuer and many
Nice area and very friendly people.
