We have a lot to be thankful for, so this is a long one, and continues in the comments.

Thank you so so much to everyone who attended Windy Pop Weekender 2026, and to all the bands, volunteers, and partners who made it happen! Dancing and singing along with the crowd, bands who had never interacted with each other leaving as friends or touring together, meeting pop fans from small towns in the Midwest like Sparta, WI to the Scandinavian city of Malmö, Sweden – YOU’RE PART OF IT!

REQUEST: We’d love to hear from you – please take our survey in bio.

Between our merch sales, direct donations, and matching, we raised $800 for Albany Park Mutual Aid! We'll share once posters and other merch are available online.

Partners:
@chirpradio our media partner, hyped us up on-air and online and at Trivia, tabled at our fest, and DJ moimoi played the tunes @ Welcome Party & Swag Swap

@chicago.bipoc.birders for centering BIPOC folks and providing a welcoming space and beginner bird walk led by Zelle (They/Them). So many indie pop songs are about birds, and bird joy is for everyone!

@clean.air.club air purifiers helped reduce the likelihood of airborne infections at subT! We protect us, and multi-layered protections are the best way! 🌬️✨

Community Partner: @albanyparkmutualaid. 25% of all our WPW fest merch sold was donated to Albany Park Mutual Aid, an incredible mutual aid org helping to meet the vital needs of the families, friends, and neighbors who are part of the Albany Park community. They provide community resources and essential goods such as groceries, household supplies, and diapers. Emily’s had a chance to volunteer alongside some of the APMA organizers and they’re truly doing amazing work in our community. Please join us in helping support their work! We are in this together! Donation link in bio.

Graphic Design: Juli Sherry makes our graphics look so dang snazzy, and she surprised us this year by dropping the photo of Blue Clovers into our image folder and saying “SURPRISE! I’m now in Blue Clovers!” In addition to designing our graphics and being a rock star in 6 bands, she also co-owns @pretzlerecords focused mostly on releasing music from Champaign, IL!

Happy birthday, Eddie! Thank you, @badrap_advocacy for the party and for all the ways you help humans and dogs take care of each other. 🖤

Friends, if you’re looking for your next canine family member, talk to Tim and Donna at Bad Rap. All of the dogs pictured here (except Eddie in the first slide) are available for adoption.

“It’s a work of exquisite focus, and stands as the most refined, committed recording I’ve heard from the ensemble, which provides a fresh angle from which to admire Granberg’s music.”
Many thanks to Peter Margasak for his lovely words on our (a pe ri od ic’s) most recent release “aus der nacht,” featuring a beautiful, album-length commissioned piece by Magnus Granberg, (New Focus Recordings, Mary Mazurek, engineer, Juli Sherry, designer)!

Very excited to share the release of our new album aus der nacht, featuring a stunning album-length commissioned work by @magnusgranberg !

It was a true joy to premiere this piece at the 2023 Frequency Festival and to collaborate with Magnus in Chicago. We’re also incredibly grateful to have had the magical mind of @mary.mazurek as our engineer.

The album drops May 1st on @newfocusrecordings -our third release with this wonderful label, and our third time working with our favorite designer @moochieboochie !

Look at these silly little critters!! 💓 We wouldn't be Pretzle without the support of our favorite pals 🐾

These playful pets deserve the spotlight just as much as our artists and team 🫶🏻 Thanks for keeping us going through every release!
