Congratulations to Strive participant Nia Seay who was this years recipient of the KAELYN HILL AWARD and a $250 scholarship to go towards furthering her basketball education!

Nia played her first basketball with Strive 2 years ago. From there she tried out for and played with her middle school team and now plays on her high school varsity team. The Award is given in honor of Kaelyn who was one of our first athletes at summer camp and basketball. She was very quiet and shy but gained an interest and the confidence through Strive to go out for recreational soccer and loved it! In 2022 Kaelyn was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and passed away June 1, 2022 at the age of 10. The award is given to a Strive athlete that represents the spirit of Kaelyn and Strive which is Bravery, Kindness, and a Desire to learn and try new sports.
