Day 24 of #peptober “SOLIDARITY” a prompt that requests that I reshare someone else’s post that rang true for me. I’m choosing to highlight our Hair and Makeup department head’s @jperrythemodel recent post alongside some of my favourite BTS photos courtesy of 📸 @eatdemchknwngz that feature some of the bravest and most generous souls I have come across in this grueling industry 🎥🎞🎬 Many of you have heard about a high profile case where we lost the life of a fellow filmmaker @halynahutchins and while investigations are ongoing the red flags with regards to health and safety on that set were known amongst the crew that chose to stand together in demanding safer working conditions. It has been an honour and a pleasure working with not just my talented colleagues but my life-long friends. We are people. We are not disposable. The health and safety of the crew is not a place for cutting corners or trying to meet the bottom line. It has been challenging reconciling my position as a small-fry crew member on some sets and the director and producer on others. I wish other producers wouldn’t forget what it’s like being on your feet for 12 hour days with lunch pushed back and a long drive home afterwards. I will see to it that my friends never jeopardize their mental or physical health for *the vision* or their *craft.* I will encourage them in ambitious creative pursuits and am eternally grateful for the support and encouragement I have received in return. But I will never allow the people I love to be put in harms way. Day 13 of #peptober “COLLAB” is dedicated to one of the most impactful collaborations I’ve been a part of in my entire artistic career. @htetty MV for her banger “Attraction” 🎶 had me, our production designer @marixiao.tx and the whole crew questioning what was possible and pushing that envelope as individual artists and as a team. When @moon.pn our director placed this budding flower of a concept gently into my lap I knew I was looking at the most ✨ME✨ thing I’d ever seen since #SHPW This shoot also arrived at an integral period where I was finally able to peak out of my mental/emotional/quarantined cocoon and wasn’t sure of what was waiting for me outside of what I’ve made for myself through the Starseed series. In ways a general audience may not be able to imagine this project demanded blood, sweat and tears. And in ways my closest peers and friends may not know I was forced to reckon with who I am, what my values are and just what I am capable of… turns out all of that is a goddamn lot 😤💖 You don’t get all this good without suffering a couple losses here and there but that’s why you make good friends that stick in your corner when you’re a champion AND when your game is off. This long ass caption is really a thank you note to a handful of the outrageous number of people that have stuck by me despite the antics and the anarchy ❤️‍🔥 I love all of you so very much. . . . #peptoberday13 #collab #meraki #attraction #htet #musicvideo #bts #artdirection #conceptart #faeries #demons #fantasy #escape

📢🗯 CAST AND CREW SHOUTOUT: Boom Operator, Daniel Fromberg is one part of our superstar sound department alongside Sound Mixer @jvnuck 🎛🎚🔉 He of course has the height and arms for the job 🦒 but he also has the ear and attentiveness of an expert sound technician. He is the genius behind most if not all the original scores and compositions for UTOPIA’s promo vids and will have his experimental sound designs featured in the finished episode. We are incredibly grateful to have him as part of our team and I am especially grateful to get to call him a friend :) Swipe to the end for a wholesome pic of Daniel with his crocs and a recorder that I took at an open mic night hosted by Ashbury Coffee House ☕️ that Lena invited us to. I met a tonne of cool new friends there 💛 many of whom came through to be extras at our Gene Genie shoot shot at @woknfire !! 🧬🍸🧞‍♂️ . . . #starseed #starseedfam #utopia #pilot #flightrisk #studentfilm #webseries #davidbowie #jeangenie #sushi #studentfilm #indiefilm #boomoperator #boomop #soundmixer #experimentalmusic #filmsound #producer
