#26 If artworks hold infinite potential for interpretation, I would trust how I am personally able to take meaning from my drawing to demonstrate the quality of works. Handwriting, or even speaking in general leaves a different impression by the personality of the speaker. Current writing lacks the texture of emotion put into each linguistic expression. In this work, I map two kinds of words, letters (friends instagram handles) and numbers (result of bored game with Andy) into separate sections to emphasize difference, to reexperience the raw potential of texture that language holds in general in speech to claim objective truth in the structure of my language.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐦 opens in New York, 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟐 Featuring: ★ Luke Hamel Cooke ★ Nadia Younes ★ Adriana Wynne Ronson ★ Ginger Snow Semmelhack ★ Reiji Shimane ★ Zack Sanyour Bringing together sculpture, painting, and drawing, The Next Room places six distinct practices in deliberate proximity. Each artist approaches their medium without compromise, tracing the varied paths an oil brush, canvas, or sculptural form can take. United not by theme but by the act of making, the works share an attentiveness to method and material, whether encountered alone or side by side, each registers a simple truth: what touches, changes.
