Every day is a summer day when you learn to walk with your head above the clouds ☀️

Long term client @moonface88 has so much more control than ever before & it’s really starting to show. We focus on much more than just training & food although there is a huge training precision emphasis right now. Managing stress levels is key to success in all fields & that can be difficult to do on your own sometimes when you’re in the eye of the storm ⛈️

See below for her experience with @team_glv so far 👇🏻

“Working with Ellis has truly been a journey. Since my shoulder surgery, he’s played a key role in my rehab; we’ve explored a new training system together and transformed my approach in the gym. Ellis is a great coach who really takes the time to understand training from a holistic perspective. He’s always available to answer questions, offer support, and, when necessary, give that little bit of tough love!”

I was struggling on Friday. I was just saying the previous week about making training more flexible is only part of the solution to all-or-nothing mindset around fitness. You have to give yourself PERMISSION to choose those options that aren't the ideal. I had created a program that gives multiple options of which training session to do based on how much energy, motivation, and self-regulatory capacity you have on a given day. I now have a choice between Bronze, silver, or gold-tier workouts that allow for life to happen and get myself and my clients closer to our goals without saying "screw" it if you can't do it perfectly. In other words moving away from its a gold-tier workout or its nothing. But having flexibility built into your program is not enough if you are not ALLOWING yourself to do a bronze or silver iteration of that workout. And this is exactly what I was struggling with on Friday.
It was at the end of an unusually busy week. I felt low, I had no energy, no motivation, no fucks left, no money, no bitches, etc etc.
And partly because I was feeling so low, the self-critical part of myself was able to hijack my brain and didn't even allow me to consider a minimalist session or even a "just walk through the doors" bare minimum. But when I reached out to MY TEAM #hybridfitgang . They basically handed it to me 🤣 But their words of encouragement, compassion, and gentle reminders that bronze beats last Every. Single. Time. I was teetering on the edge of not even being in the race (self-sabotaging).. let alone coming last (doing nothing). Their kind words helped pull me out of that. And I did 2 sets of bench. And on Monday when I went in I absolutely DICKED that session. And there's no doubt their words helped me bounce back with a vengeance 🦍 I'm posting this as a reminder that you can have all the knowledge, all the experience, all the evidence-based strategies to increase adherence to your training and nutrition. This doesn't mean you can be objective in the moment. I'm so blessed to have a community where the growth is reciprocal 🥰 Talk to your people instead of struggling alone!
Thank you: #hybridfitgang 🥺

Friday gratitude

Sometimes we all need a reminder of how wonderful and unique we actually are. This little exercise gives your friends and family an opportunity to tell each other what they appreciate and like about each other.

Put these in a place you can see, like on your fridge, so when you have doubts about yourself you can see how amazing you are.

Give this exercise a go this weekend with your family and friends!

Client Win !!!

Sometimes you have to take a step back to take 10 steps forward.

Learn what the gold standard is, then find what works for you. We all have our individual differences so itemised training is a must.

When I am programming for my clients, I must make sure they are improving mobility. If you can move well, your chance of injury will go down, so form over weight at all times.
