One of my favorite pieces of art is this stunning embroidery by @moonflesh that I commissioned when I finished AN ARROW TO THE MOON. Look at the incredible details: The glowing moonstone—with a rainbowy flash—as the firefly’s lamp. The bowstring!! And the atropa belladonna framing the piece, with onyx stones for the berries believed to be the source of Juliet Capulet’s potion… This piece hangs above my writing desk, bringing me joy every day. 🥰

AN ARROW THE MOON comes out one week from today. I can’t believe how quickly time is passing.

I’ve been holding onto this special package for far too long ... I held onto this beautiful package from @moonflesh like a present to myself until I was in the right headspace to open it and truly appreciate its beauty and the time Lyla put into creating it ... When quarantine started one of the things I promised myself was to try and purchase as much artwork as possible from artists I admire that make a living off of their craft. Lyla was one of the first artists I thought of, I’ve been in love with her work since I was first introduced to it and her. If you’re looking for a truly special and unique piece of artwork reach out to this truly special and unique artist 💜

There is magic in each and every stitch of these thistle embroideries, handmade by my friend and fellow artist @moonflesh. Lyla imbues all of her work with intricate details and potent symbolism, and I’m beyond honored to add these two pieces to my collection. Thistles have sprung up around me in so many ways during this collection, but through the artwork of friends is a particularly sacred channel. 💜🌿 #soliloquyjewelry #moonflesh

I came across @moonflesh art about a month ago and I fell in love. Her stitching is gorgeous and also so inspiring as I have kinda slacked on doing embroidery the past few years. I eagerly look forward to her next post. Go give her a follow and some love!

my @moonflesh embroidery collection. started in 2017 and most recently added the broom, which i am extra smitten with!
lyla’s skill and talent goes far beyond embroidering - the art and composition in every piece is always so pleasing. a couple of my favorite details are the broom bristles and the crow feathers. i love how just like real crows, they appear black from afar, but certainly show their color closer up 😍 check out lyla’s page @moonflesh for hundreds of beautiful designs!

Up close and personal with the studio shelves— my altar of creativity and inspiration, a sacred place for mood-making, a shrine to forgotten eras, a realm that unlocks daydreams, a glint of my inner world. ✨ This wall of antiques, art, and natural remnants is my favorite corner of the studio. Oftentimes I get lost in these shelves, rearranging and rediscovering its treasures to glean inspiration. Soon I’ll be clearing them and re-curating this sacred space, so I thought I’d give them a few more moments in the spotlight. 🔮 #poisonappleprintshop #altar #studiospace #antiques #oddities #artstudio #moodboard #forgottenrealms #reimaginemay #witchyvibes #witchythings #darkinspiration #darkdecor #darkart #sacredspace #sacredrealm #antiquedecor #witchaesthetic #witchdecor #witchydecor #studioshelves

When my earthy, embroidery making, wild animal saving, spooky stuff loving friend @dickstiffany over at @hawkshollowglassco is having a stay at home quarantine birthday, the best thing to do is make her a cake and try to incorporate some of the things she loves!
I’m so thankful and grateful that the amazing and talented @moonflesh so graciously allowed me to “cake” one of her beautiful embroidery designs! This cake was so fun to make, and @moonflesh art really inspires me to do more earthy/spooky baking which is what I love to do the most! .

👁 Reposting @moonflesh: Know thyself 👁 Here is a detail of the Seer’s Sorrow piece I posted a couple of days ago. This design (first created almost three years ago now) was inspired by my lifelong love of the seers & prophetesses of Greek lore. It’s the reason why I gave Pythia her name! 🤍
