Your LAST REMINDER…… WE HAVE A SHOW!!
💌
Come by @bassline2239 tomorrow at 7pm to see some awesome acts! If you missed our spotlights over the past couple of days…. Here’s a quick piece on each band!
💌
Moonsyde:
🎸
Moonsyde began in the fall of 2021 with Clint Moon and Chris Kenji Brenden meeting through the Hip Hop Collective (currently known as HIDEOUT) at the University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign. Through their musical connections on campus, they were joined by Zuhair Ali, Matt Mak, Ryan Martin, Diego Orellana and Will Penne. They are actively working to finish their debut EP. Along the way they teamed up with Jess Miyata and Dheya Pio to help create their unique blend of funk, hip-hop, and alternative styles and bring their vision to reality.

Gorilla Tuesday:
🎸
Bio: Gorilla Tuesday is a Chicago rock band fronted by songwriter Jimmy Brown with guitarist Matt Shack, drummer Mick Smith, and bassist Steve Trifilio. Since April 2023, the band has produced songs running the gamut from indie pop to folk-rock. Their spirited acoustic rhythms combine with heavy electric solos to create engaging takes on each genre the band dips into.

In theme, Gorilla Tuesday tackles the fantasies of fresh romance and the gallows of grisly executions alike, aiming to above all never bore the listener. Gorilla Tuesday’s first EP, Sorry I Dropped Your Fortune Cookie, released 3/21/2024. They also released a new single “Gone, Gone” in mid-November 2024. Remember, more gorillas, more Tuesdays–every show!

Atheena:
🎸
Atheena is an alternative rock trio hailing from Chicago. Their recent release “What We Do In Secret” mixes grunge, hard rock, and nu-gaze. Coming from a lively music scene, Atheena stands out with their live shows, grittiness, and interesting guitar work.

Kract:
🎸
Kract is a high-energy modern punk band from Chicago with raw intensity and a rebellious edge. Formed by songwriter Daniel Swisher (guitar/vocals), Dan Wright (bass), and Joey Fraider (drums), the trio delivers catchy hooks, driving basslines, and hard hitting drums. Their sound fuses nostalgic punk vibes with a modern grit to create an anthemic vibe for those who live for the moment.
