01.18.2026 | Otterfest @ The Meadows

I had such an amazing time at Otterfest last weekend. It was the perfect show to start off the new year with. I was able to catch the first 6 bands of the day and they all delivered on an energetic and raucous show in the best ways. I have them all tagges so definitely check them out! Thank you to all of the bands and the people at Otter House for such a great time. 🤘

Slowly crawling out of my cage only for snow to force me back in. Oh winter, I could never hate you but god do you make it hard sometimes.

Anyway, went to @otterhousestudios Otterfest Day 2 because I absolutely adore some of my favorite little devils. However, I did have to bail early so no major write up. Enjoy an essay in the caption.

@ephemera_.official , the freshmen to watch. I caught them last year, immediately fell in love, and have loved watching them start to carve out their place from the sidelines. They've dropped a single, gotten crowds moving from their place on the stage, and already utilize that platform to call attention to what matters. I couldn't be more impressed with them. Absolutely support the band, but also support their search for their friend Morty, who went missing in November.

@firingsquadhc was fun for the sheer aggression. I've been really into that more "beat your ass" vibe from bands and I found them pretty solid. Crowd participation too? Funtastic

@bleedthegods have been on my radar a minute and I'm glad I caught them because their set was really fun to watch. I spent 90% of it honed in on the bassist cause they did not stop moving for a second and I absolutely eat that shit up.

@hivemindliny was my new find of the night. I loved their music, the energy, the shoresy jersey. Everything about them hit for me, and then I got home and streamed their shit and it was just as good? Amazing. Will be seeing again.

@moonwavesny brought the drama. Lotta extra blinding lights, masks, theatrics. They definitely had the most performance style showing.

@farsightofficial perfect, as usual. Kidding. It was a solid set though. Gave Dave my near full attention because that guy is terrifying on drums. Of course I'll never say no to an nyc farsight set. They had people moving, I was thrilled, as the alleged #1 farsight enjoyer (I'm not. I'm positive there are bigger fans) I was pretty satisfied.

Then i was forced to leave for capitalism reasons and i missed the rest of the lineup. But i will say I've seen them all before and been impressed. So while it's a loss for me emotionally, I will absolutely make it up later this year.
