QOTD: How are you saying goodbye to summer and hello to autumn? ☀️🌊🍂🧣

Saw @lovingbyval doing this spring fever book tag but forgot about it and now it’s almost fall 😂 so I figured I’d make it a late summer fever book tag while I still can instead ☀️

☔️ Summer showers: a book that made you cry or have an emotional moment.
Powerful by Lauren Roberts. It was so cruel and sad and beautiful at the same time 😭

🌺 Petals: A book with a floral cover.
•Powerless by Lauren Roberts.
•Five feet apart by Rachel Lippincott.

💐 Flourish: a book that exceeded your expectations.
Divine rivals. It was better than I could’ve imagined it and it’s my Roman Empire now

🐝 Buzz: a book that has all the hype (and did or didn’t live up to it)
•A study in drowning. It wasn’t what I had expected it to be but I enjoyed it immensely. Definitely worth the hype in my opinion.
•These violent delights didn’t live up to the hype for me.

🧺 Picnic: a lighthearted or romantic book perfect for the season.
Mr. Wrong Number is a very quick, fun and cute read.

🌱 Sprout: A book that started slow but got better.
Unravel me by Tahereh Mafi. The shatter me books get way better in the middle and towards the end. The plot twists and action are so fun and exciting.

Tagged a couple friends but no pressure, and if I didn’t tag you and you want to participate too consider yourself tagged ✨

Hello Book friends! 💚

Today’s post is all about the beauty that hides underneath the dust jacket of books. I don’t know how many other people do this, but I always remove the dust jacket to see if there might be a little something hiding underneath. If there is, then my day is made 😁

Here are a collection of some of my favourite foiled and designed hardcase. I call this the “Foil flatlay”, (even if two of the printed ones has NO foil on it… 🤫).

Anyways I have tagged a few people to do this challenge themselves, and if you want to do it but aren’t tagged - feel free to do it anyways! I just want to see the beauty that hides underneath the dust jackets of the books on other people shelves! 💕

Q: Do you prefer foil art or printed art on the hardcase?

QOTD: What are your pool day essentials? 🌊🐚💛

Lemon drop tag 🪻🍋🫧💜

🪻Sweet & tart: a book that made you laugh & cry.
- Ignite me by Tahereh Mafi. Kenji brings out all the laughs but everything else made me tear up.

🍋 Zesty surprise: a book that totally surprised you.
- Divine rivals. I had heard it was a great book but the story in general was a delightful surprise and I was definitely not expecting nor prepared for that ending.

🍸 Bitter aftertaste: a book you wanted to love but didn’t quite hit the mark.
- Mr. Wrong Number. I had read a couple quotes and was very interested in the tropes and the whole wrong number romance but it didn’t quite hit the spot for me. It was still a fun read tho.

💜 Sugared rim: a book with beautiful prose or writing that stuck with you.
- A study in drowning. The writing is gorgeous. I think of Angharad quotes and the mariners demise all the time.

🫧 Summer sip: a book that gave you summery, carefree vibes.
- Beach read by Emily Henry. It’s been on my tbr for a while now and the cover is very summery.

🍋 Yellow on the cover: a book with a yellow cover or sunny aesthetic.
- Kingdom of ash. I haven’t read it yet but I absolutely love the yellow cover.

🪻 Too strong to chug: a book that was emotionally intense or hard to get through.
- Ruin and rising is quite emotional and at times it felt like the book was dragging a bit but it’s one of those that pushing through is worth it.

🍸 Lemonade out of lemons: a book with a character who turned hardship into strength.
- Unsteady by Peyton Corrine. The way Rhys pushed through what he was going through and helped Sadie even when he wasn’t at his best was inspiring and quite sweet to read.

💜 Sweetheart pick: a book you’ll always recommend to others.
- Throne of glass for sure. I’ll never stop talking about those books tbh.

Saw @haileesbooks doing this tag & thought I’d hop on & share my answers ☺️

Happy Friday book friends! 🩷

If there’s one thing you need to know about me, it’s that I love flowers. Something my giant collection of fabric flowers can testify about 👀

So it felt like a perfect match for me to do the Flower flatlay that @bookish_brenna tagged me in. It made me realise that I don’t have nearly as many books with flowers one them that I want 😅💐

I have tagged some people to do this flatlay themselves, but no pressure. And if you want to do this but aren’t tagged, consider yourself tagged 😊

Q: What are your favourite kind of book covers?

Today’s very funky book stack is brought to you by the letter B! Thank you to @bookshelvesandtealeaves for the tag 😊 I never realised how many B book I have in until I was taking the photo and then I had to get a bit creative to fit them all in 😂

I have tagged some people to this challenge themselves if they want to, but no pressure as always 💕
