Mirror Mountain- Public figures can be like mirror mountains: larger, more distant, and often shaped by selective views, making them powerful but also distorting our view of ourselves. Ordinary people, by contrast, can act like everyday mirrors; closer and more familiar, reflecting aspects of our lives that may be easier to recognize. Both can reveal something about who we are, but neither is a complete or perfectly accurate reflection. The ProdoLAB hosted Jaylen Ward with visual artist, Ella Larson, to create a one night live performance incorporating Jaylen’s scores with Ella’s drawings and animation. The band pulled together for the night are some of the area’s best improvisors. Matt Otto sax, Jordan Faught bass, Daul Lee keys, John Fraka gtr. #kansascityjazz #musicartcollab #realjazz

Excited to debut a new series I’m curating @thirdplacelounge this Friday 9/18 6-9!!!

Live at Winnie’s started in @matt.robertson @andyvogy and I’s basement just over a year ago with the goal of showcasing the amazing artists we have here in KC! Open Channel traditionally starts off the nights followed by another band as the main feature. We are thrilled to bring this event to the public every second and fourth Thursday starting in October! The community that has formed around Winnie’s is truly a gift, and we’re so excited to see it grow even more with a public venue! Come hang and enjoy the music and a tasty bev or two!

Shoutout to @moorepiano for making this possible and the people @thirdplacelounge for making these posters!

Band this Friday:
Me on trumpet
@moorepiano on keys
@jjnovelli_ on bass
@jay_ward_music on drums
