After joining us for Cluster Crafts: 10 Years, it’s such a delight to welcome Morvarid Alavifard @mor.alavifard back to Cluster for ANNEAL. The Iranian precious metal artist explores memory, identity and transformation through contemporary silversmithing. Working with cutting, fracturing, inlaying and rejoining metal, she challenges the idea that precious objects must remain untouched — allowing each intervention to become part of the story. For Morvarid, destruction can be a form of creation. Her work reflects experiences of survival, adaptation and resistance, bringing inherited craft techniques into conversation with contemporary life. We’re so pleased to have Morvarid’s perspective as part of ANNEAL, where craft, material and tradition continue to evolve through the people who work with them. ANNEAL | Craft, Inheritance and Future of Metal 📍 KOPPEL Collective Gallery, 157 Regent’s Park Rd, London NW1 8BB 📅 26 November – 4 December 2026 Opening Night: 26 November | 5–8:30 PM Public exhibition: 26 Nov – 4 Dec | 11 AM–7 PM Come see Morvarid’s work in person. Free RSVP via the link in bio. #ANNEAL #ClusterCrafts #MorvaridAlavifard #ContemporarySilversmithing #Metalwork #LondonExhibition

We had such an inspiring visit yesterday to @davidmelloruk. During our mentoring with Chris, we had lots of conversations about manufacturing and how we can develop our designs for production, so he organised this trip for us. Corin, David’s son, who now manages the company, was so kind to speak with us about the company, its history and the processes behind their work. It was really interesting to learn more about manufacturing and how their designs are produced. Thank you @chrisknight925applied for organising our trip! 🤍

A special visit to Goldsmiths' Fair for our Artistic Director, Sue Armstrong, who was delighted to spend time with our 2026 Emerging Artist Award finalist, Morvarid Alavifard. Goldsmiths' Fair is one of the UK's leading showcases for contemporary jewellery and silver, bringing together exceptional makers from across the sector. Morvarid's practice explores memory, emotion and transformation through exquisite precious-metal work and silversmithing techniques. She draws on lived experience and creates deeply personal objects that resonate through material, craftsmanship and meaning. Sue was especially pleased to see Morvarid's SCAF-winning piece, soon to become part of our collection, on display at the Fair. Congratulations, Morvarid. We're proud to champion your remarkable creativity and craftsmanship, and to see your work featured on such a prestigious platform! Huge well done!
