POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Melody A.M.’s favourite albums and most-listened to tracks in 2024.

In no particular order, these were the 5 records and 5 songs that made this past year *that* much better - musically - for us:

[ALBUMS]

Dina Ögon // Orion - the Swedes’ 3rd album sounded particularly great when they played it live in London earlier this year. @annaahnlund’s majestic voice is the auditory equivalent of a warm embrace

ionnalee // BLUND - her first Swedish-language album (and its English counterpart, CLOSE YOUR EYES) brought the feels, the hope and the melodies

Brimheim // RATKING - frenetic indie-pop with passion and quirk in equal measure. The visual for ‘Into The Ooze’ (directed by @heidrik) was one of the year’s best music videos

Klemens Hannigan // Low Light - a subtle, sensual and sensitive collection with immediate appeal and repeat-listen impact

Asbjørn // The Secret Our Bodies Hold - Denmark’s greatest (yes, greatest) and also nicest pop-maker combines thoughtful lyrics, un-ignorable beats and 0 dull moments on his 4th long-player

[TRACKS]

MOR // Spend That Money Honey - whilst STMH came out in December last year, it is Melody A.M.’s most played track of 2024. Its parent album, ‘Kick Off’ - the band’s first full-length collaboration with @grantissoindie - is also one of the year’s strongest sets

Jacqline // Effortless - channeling a bit of ABBA and a bit of Agnes, this is smooth, catchy pop perfection

Vaarin // ‘til the morning - a stunningly beautiful first taster from the Norwegian musician’s next album, due out in 2025

ionnalee // allting vill rinna ut i sand - a dreamy, euphoric synthscape with a strong chorus and powerful middle-8, proving that Jonna Lee’s songwriting and production prowess is an ever-evolving force

Jenny Wilson // Alphabet of Absence - originally part of the project ‘Ogiltig Frånvaro’, a music residency by Scenkonst Sörmland, this track was inspired by texts and stories from young people who, for a variety of reasons, do not want to go to school or participate in lessons. Wilson at her most unique and brilliant.

The National, DIIV & The Strokes.
