A mural of Cardiff City legend Sol Bamba has been unveiled following his death last year aged 39. Bamba, an Ivory Coast defender, was part of the team that won promotion to the Premier League in 2018 – he became a fan favourite after being signed on a free transfer by Neil Warnock in 2016. The mural, painted by @jody_artist and @more.creative, is located on Penarth Road in Grangetown. Bamba died in August 2024 after falling ill before a match in Turkey, where he was technical director for Adanaspor.
