5 years & 5 months. 2 promotions. 1 interim executive leadership appointment. 9 team members. Countless colleagues, students, alumni, trustees, and partners who poured into me as I poured into them. On Friday, Sept. 25, I closed one of the most fulfilling chapters of my professional life as Senior Director of Marketing & Communications and Press Secretary & Interim Chief of Staff to the President at Morehouse College. On my first division call in 2021, then-VP of MarComm Jose Mallabo asked each of us to describe ourselves in one word. I said: “I am a pusher. I push for better wherever better exists.” Preparing to leave, that memory came back full circle. I lived up to it, and I left it all on the floor. I could list the numbers and the operational wins. But what mattered most was the people — my team, C3, students, staff, faculty, alumni, trustees, and partners. My office was a library where my team and students “checked out” books, with scripture, quotes, and poems all over the walls — Colossians 3:23, Invictus, “Here’s to the Crazy Ones,” “The Splendid Torch.” What wasn’t on the walls were my guiding mantras: ✨Be intentional (tattooed on my left wrist)
✨Say the quiet part out loud
✨Do the right thing… by any means necessary (word to @officialspikelee) In Morehouse terms, this is my version of “steadfast, honest, and true.” It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to steward this community. People are the most important asset on this planet. I protect “the brand” only because of the honor I hold for the people who built it and carry it now. More on my next adventure soon 😌 For now, I’m resting, recovering, regulating, getting some sunshine and fresh air, and sitting in gratitude for what this journey has been… and what I want to do differently next. Dear Ole Morehouse, thank you kindly for trusting me unequivocally and letting me live the dream alongside you 🏠🙆🏽‍♀️🙏🏽 Thank you to all who came and spoke at the send off party. I can stay cool and calm through just about any crisis, but to be on the receiving end of so much love and appreciation, it was overwhelming. All the Fruits of the Spirit were on display. My cup runs over. Bless ya

The 2026–27 academic year is officially underway. Yesterday, Morehouse College gathered students, faculty, administrators, and college leadership for #OpeningConvocation. This longstanding tradition marks the beginning of a new academic year and calls the Morehouse community to rededicate itself to the pursuit of excellence. For new students, it marks the beginning of their Morehouse experience. For seniors, it marks the start of their final year in The House. And for all, it reminds us of the responsibility that comes with being part of this institution. #Morehouse #MorehouseCollege credit: @zae.visuals

#OliveBranch: The AUC understood the assignment!   Morehouse College, Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University, and Morris Brown College came together for Operation Olive Branch, bringing the newest members of the AUC together before the semester officially gets underway.   New faces. New connections. One AUC.   #MorehouseCollege #Morehouse30 #AUC cred: @jjflix_
