Spelhouse Sibling Exchange—

Rooted in tradition, the incoming freshman classes of Morehouse College and Spelman College come together to celebrate the connection between both institutions.

During the ceremony, students are introduced to their SpelHouse sibling, where they exchange contact information, learn more about one another, and begin building new connections.

This tradition continues to bridge the gap between both schools while creating lasting friendships and memories.

Yesterday, we were able to invite the Class of 2030 and transfer students into a long-standing tradition called the SpelHouse Sibling Exchange. A very special thanks to our SGA officials, Madisen Humphrey and Analiese Poe, as well as Morehouse NSO and Morehouse SGA, for their incredible dedication, leadership, and vision in organizing an unforgettable experience. Welcoming a new generation into our community is what keeps our bond so strong, and seeing everyone come together to embrace our newest brothers and sisters truly showed the heart of our community. Welcome to the family!

Come join us at our first workshop of the semester. This workshop is designed to help neurodivergent students strengthen interpersonal communication, relationship-building, and self-advocacy skills while fostering a greater sense of connection and belonging within the campus community.

Participants will explore strategies for navigating social situations, understanding social expectations, and building meaningful relationships with peers, faculty, and staff. Recognizing that everyone desires connection and community, the workshop emphasizes honoring individual communication styles while developing confidence in social interactions. Through discussion and practical strategies, students will learn ways to cultivate supportive friendships, expand their support networks, and create a stronger sense of belonging among their Morehouse brothers.

This time last week, we’d just moved Jr into his dorm and were headed home from @morehousenso 🥹 NSO confirmed what ASW introduced me too: a new home away from home and a new brotherhood that I know will last a lifetime.🫶🏾

Before we left, our village came to pray over him, his school and classmates. 🙏🏾

Letting go is hard, even moreso when they’re not just down the street. But I’m excited for the growth, friendships, and new experiences Jr will have as he settles into his new House. 🏠

Oh my! It took me a while to get myself together!! Big day for us. We took MJ to college and boy was it bittersweet! So excited for him and the next chapter, but time just flew by. So grateful to have been able to take the ride and watch him put in the work! Thanks to our village! Here’s move-in Day! We did that!! Cleaning! Shopping, Ordering all the things! Designing and the final reveal!! Home away from home! More to come!! This past weekend was an experience like no other!! We’re a true SpelHouse! So blessed to have his sister right next door!
