What an honor to be asked to help host the @MoreorLess podcast this week with my good friends @JLessin, @Lessin and @davemorin. We dive into everything from the long and short term effects of the smartphone, social media, and the internet to the resurgence of live experiences. Our research at Eventbrite indicates that 75% of the Gen Z population is suffering from loneliness. We’re hoping to help combat this issue through in-person events, including some of those that are more unique and niche. Attendance at silent book clubs in the US tripled from 2022 to 2023. We also clocked a 56% surge in non-speed dating singles events focused on shared passions. The bottom line? People simply want to do things with other people. We’re here to make that happen. It was June 2023 when two married couples that work in tech and venture capital decided to start a podcast. They happen to be longtime friends. They happen to have worked at, founded, and invested in some of the world’s most notable companies. And most importantly, their last names happen to be the Morins and the Lessins, which honestly created such an obvious title that it became the main impetus for the whole thing.
