For so long, I thought I was missing something. I thought I was destined to go through life feeling alone. But the truth is, I was so focused on what I thought I didn’t have that I couldn’t appreciate everything that had been right in front of me all along.

And then I look at these pictures. A room full of people celebrating the love Hope and I have found, and I can’t help but get emotional. Because this is so much bigger than an engagement party to me. It’s a reminder of how much life can change when you decide to change yours.

I got to be fully present for every hug, every conversation, every laugh, and every little moment. I got to look around that room and truly take in just how loved we are. And I get to remember every single second of it.

There was a time in my life when I didn’t think I deserved a love like this, a life like this, or even happiness like this. And today, I know that I do.

To everyone who has loved me through the good, the bad, and everything in between, thank you. Thank you for staying, for showing up, for giving me grace, and for loving me through seasons when I wasn’t very easy to love.

And to Hope, I cannot believe I get to build this beautiful life with you. I am so excited for this next chapter and everything that comes with it.

Four years ago, I thought alcohol was giving me something I needed. Today, I realize it was keeping me from seeing everything I already had.

What a beautiful thing it is to be present for a life I once couldn’t even imagine. I will never take any of it for granted. 🤍
